Junior Guzman Killing Left Bronx Bodega Owner Traumatized

The man who owned a New York City bodega where a teen was killed is speaking about the incident. Modesto Cruz owned the Bronx store where 15-year-old Lesandro "Junior" Guzman-Feliz sought help from gang members who were chasing him. Cruz spoke to MTV for its news series "True Life Crime." Surveillance video from the store shows a scared Guzman-Feliz run inside and try to jump behind the counter to find safety. InsideEdition.com's Mara Montalbano has more. #InsideEdition

I'm not from NYC, never met junior or his family but his story always brings me to tears. I remember when this story broke I spent weeks looking for updates on the arrest 2 years ago I was reminded of the case and saw the outcomes and today a tic tok video of his death show up on my feed that brought me here. JR reminds me of my brother and maybe it's the fact that so many people fail him that night from the story owner to the nurses that walked pasted him outside the story after the attack to the officers outside the hospital just watching him suffer with little to no care. The failure of the entire community felt after was earth shaking. This young man wanted to be an officer and they look at him like he was scum as he died. At least the outcry was loud enough to insure justice.

That’s the dumbest thing I’ve ever heard. How do you know if they’re trying to rob you or steal merchandise? There is no way to know what’s going on especially if you don’t know the person. You can’t blame anyone but the murderers for what happened, it’s not the bodega owners fault for not letting a random stranger just jump behind the counter.
