Walt Disney struck gold in 2001 when their movie Pirates of the Caribbean, based on a Disney theme park ride, became a massive international hit and made them tons of money. Since then, they’ve made five Pirates movies and completely milked the franchise for all it’s worth. At the same time, they attempted to adapt other Disney rides into movies, with little to no success. Haunted Mansion, Tomorrowland, Country Bears. Now, 20 years after the first pirates movie - their latest attempt is Jungle Cruise!
Jungle Cruise definitely raises some questions. Like why is The Rock always in the jungle? Why does this plot sound exactly like The Mummy and like Pirates of the Caribbean at the same time? What’s up with that guy’s face splitting open and snakes jumping out of it? Why does Frank speak perfect modern American English? Why did Lily intend to sacrifice thousands of lives to save a guy that explicitly said he wanted to die?
To answer all these questions and more, step inside the Pitch Meeting that led to Jungle Cruise! It’ll be super easy, barely an inconvenience.

In Leverage one scene talks about a character that's been chained to a chair and dumped into a pool sucking oxygen from the wood he's chained to. I would just call it movie magic but most of the series is based on fact so.... that might be possible. Sucking oxygen pockets from wood underwater. It sounds crazy but... the whole show does and I know for a fact the majority of it is based in reality. .

Also, those "indigenous people", by which you mean Stone Age Indians, have a pretty vast area to live on, and very few prefer to live in the wild. Like the last aborigines in Australia living on a Stone Age level, who eagerly gave that up for things like plumbing and steady access to food and water. Members of the same tribe had found them and said they'd come live with the rest of the tribe as soon as they'd tasted sugar. Not exactly Hollywood's "indigenous people live in harmony with nature and would never give that up!" statements.

@@imibee5184 Maybe it's kind of an American millennial thing? We tend to wrap our erm, tragedy, in humor. We joke often about suicide. Not because it isnt serious, but because it is. I bet someday a psychologist will write an awesome thesis on what we do to cope lol. And that's not to give any value to our suffering over different locations or different generations. I just mention it because I can see how that could sound trite to a Brazillian. Like he's making fun of the tragedy of the country instead of taking it serious. He is, but its wrapped up differently, specifically to sound not serious. If that makes sense. Bless be to you and yours.
