What are your thoughts on the 22-250 for deer and antelope. I know lots of guys swear by it.

@@MrRyanmcmahon I think it will do the job just fine for someone who knows it's limitations. But I would advise against it personally. If you do deer hunt with the 22-250 shot placement and bullet selection are going to be more important than if you use a heavier caliber. The thing is, most 22-250s are a 1-14" or 1-12" twist rate and are designed to launch light bullets extremely fast. Fast light bullets don't make for good penetration on bigger animals. So if you go for lungs, you might only take out one lung. The bullet won't exit, and if the deer takes off you won't have much of a blood trail. I would just prefer to use a bigger caliber personally. But I will say the the 22-250 has been hands down my favorite woodchuck round since I've started using it.

@@ChuckinTV Hey thank you for the response. I appreciate it. Keep on chuckin. I've always felt that an accurate rifle is the most important thing in hunting. The 22-250 with the right bullet seems to be wicked. but I would not want to light of a bullet for bigger game.

@@ChuckinTV I know .243 is a common deer rifle and just slight larger caliber but significantly slower velocity.

That fire cracker prank brings back fond memories. As kids we would take a box, punch a hole on top and then we would get a carbide stone, spit on it and put it in the box and then light it. It was cheaper than a cracker, we could get hundreds of shots at the cost of a single cracker.

I saw a man from Penna years ago shooting prairie dogs near Zortman, MT. He had five rifles set out and he said all his barrels were hot. I used to shoot prairie dogs with my BR rifle but I haven’t gone out in quite a while even though I live just a few miles from some big towns.

6.5CM on Prarie dogs? A little overkill, and pricey per round. Awesome, but a little overkill. What's next 50 BMG on squirrels? On second thought, that sounds awesome as well. I guess if you can shoot a prairie dog with that, you're a good shot. So kudos to you.

It is completely unethical to shoot those Chucks with such a small calibre as the 6.5 PRC. You shouldn't use anything smaller than 300 Win mag.
