High Temps, no water, and bugs have desamated my flowers and squash plants. I have went through so many organic treatments with no success. I come to KZread to see success stories to keep me motivated. Much love from Utah 🌸
Make a Bouquet Monday! Being kind to yourself. Lovely idea. Thank you.

Oh thank you so much for saying that! You should definitely try a cut flower garden. Have you heard of Lisa Mason Ziegler and Cool Flower Method? I think she is zone 7 as well! I talk about her in my video that is coming out tomorrow (Tuesday!)
What a fun video! I loved the cut flower garden tour =)
"2023 inspiration " I need to find room in my small garden for a cutting garden, inever would have thought of amaranth but its gorgeous! I too planted Chinese aster from seed (Sedonia blue) but here in NY its not yet bloomimg. I really love your videos and your gorgeous gardens.
Gorgeous! Each one so pretty!
You have very lucky friends. All of the arrangements are beautiful. If you want some beautiful dark purple foliage you should try growing perilla. But it has to hydrate for a few hours before you use it. You could also get a product called Quick Dip, it helps the flowers not wilt. I hope you have a wonderful day.

Thank Tammy! You always have the best suggestions! I have not heard of perilla but just looked it up and it looks gorgeous!
Janey, have you ever used your purple hyacinth bean vine in any of your cut flower arrangements? I grow it every year from seeds I harvest in the fall, but mine isn't blooming yet because I planted it in early July, after harvesting garlic out of that bed. I place a tall iron obelisk in the center of a small 3 ft. square raised bed and plant it around the outside. It is a wonderful plant that attracts hummingbirds, and it grows extremely fast and completely covers the obelisk with blooms and seed pods before we get a hard freeze sometime in October. I've never cut it for an arrangement, but it might make a lovely sculptural detail in a floral arrangement. It's just a thought. I hope you have a wonderful week! ~Margie🌱💐🦋
Omg! They all came out beautiful, thanks for sharing.

Absolutely beautiful! Excited to see where you will be putting the caladiums! My husband and I went to go furniture shopping over the weekend and we ended up just going to buy plants instead 😂
Besutiful cut flowers bouquets- gave you thought to create year calendars with these stunning photos? I think you will sell them all. Beside your followers and fan at large could cut frame and hang your Masterpiece from your garden labour to remember if summers past. You are simply awesome. Your beautiful mom too. Wish I live in near you to stroll your corner garden. Happiness and love to you all.

Wow nice Janie ✌😎💖
Interestingly enough l left the stems of my procut sunflowers in the ground and they all branches! The procut plum were one of the best branching! It was especially nice because I missed sowing more for a month so I wouldn’t have had sunflowers to cut if they hadn’t branched

Great job, Janey! I'm just getting a cut flower garden started and you are an inspiration. Love those rudbekia (sorry for spelling!)
You have a real talent for arranging flowers and growing them too! You reminded me that I need to cut more flowers and enjoy them inside, as well as share them with others! Quick tip: I bought three small black plastic garbage cans at the dollar store for cutting my flowers. They work out perfectly to hold the flowers while conditioning them before making arrangements. I made the centerpieces for my twin grandson's graduation party. They were perfect! I used antique canning jars and tied a raffia bow around each jar. I borrowed slices of trees that my sister had from her daughter's wedding, that were cut about 1.5 inches thick. They served as the center of each table, with the floral arrangements placed on top. 🌼🌼🌼

Thanks Brenda and no not yet! I have to be honest I'm a bit intimidated to grow lisianthus! It just sounds like the toughest flower! I will definitely try someday though! Enjoy the *somewhat* cooler weather this week!
Love lemon and lime Basil! I had good luck with Ferry Morse seeds from HD. You should try Holy Basil (Tulsi). The smell is fruity, but kind of reminds me of bubble gum! Jealous of your beautiful flowers...we are frying over here in North Texas!
Good morning were you able to ask your Koi pond neighbor about the heart sculpture rock in her backyard ❤
They're all lovely, your friends will be very happy girls. I seen on a floret video that you can put a wilted flower in boiling water for I think just 5 - 10 seconds and it pops back up. I thought I'd saved that one, as I needed a refresher for some Forget me not.

@@DigPlantWaterRepeat If I can find that video I'll share it. It was in the first summer class of 3 she sent out this spring. I looked for it, not sure why I can't find at the site.?
Some questions: How long do the arrangements last? Do you add a preservative/food? I love the lemon basil. Did you grow it from seed? All the bouquets look fabulous.
@DigPlantWaterRepeat
Жыл бұрын
Hi Karyn! These arrangements last about 5-7 days. The dahlias are the shortest lived and are usually the first to fade but the zinnias last forever!! I do add a bit of flower food to the water. Yes I grew the lemon basil from seed! I got it from Johnny's and I LOVE IT! 💗
Do you know if the Ageratum will bloom again after it is cut back? Love your garden🤍

You have such a long growing season. Do you plant your cut flowers inside to start or do you direct sow them in the ground?
@DigPlantWaterRepeat
Жыл бұрын
Hi Jennifer! I always start them inside just because it gives me more control with the watering. I'm sure they would do perfectly fine direct sown but I'm a control freak. 😆
Just curious….Did you prune your zinnias early on?
