    Getting straight honsoku-make equals disqualification, hence Bliev not fighting for bronze.

    Not exactly: when Hansuku-make is given for a dangerous attack on the opponent, the fighter is not allowed to fight again. If Hansuku-make is given for a dangerous attack for himself (for example in the diving case), then the fighter loses the match, but is not disqualified. See article 18.2 of the IJF rules.

    8:34 and 9:06, these were one of the most blatant, obvious false attacks I've ever seen in my years of watching international Judo. 100% the shido was deserved. I just don't see how you could justify letting the match go on at that point. If rules are not enforced evenly as written, it ceases to be a professional sport.
