Journey to the edge of the Observable Universe
Ғылым және технология
This journey presents a scientific and comprehensive illustration of the entire known Universe. It begins at the surface of the Earth and extends to the edge of the Observable Universe, passing through The Solar System, nearby stars, our galaxy, nearby galaxies, and Galactic Clusters.

Why haven't we found any trace of another civilisation in our own Galaxy? If our own planet as been around for 4.5 billion years that's more than enough time for other space venturing species to spread out across the Galaxy. So far.....nothing. 🤔

@@chromee2007 It’s hard to comprehend I get it…. Simply Google “How far have our radio waves traveled”. That may put into perspective just how hard it is for us to contact any other life form. It doesn’t mean it’s not out there, it just means the universe is so vast that communication with other life forms is nearly impossible because the distances between stars are unbelievably vast. Our galaxy alone is 100,000 lights years across and our radio waves have only been traveling at light speed for a little over 100 years. Again…Google “how far have our radio waves traveled”. Hopefully we find out in our lifetime 😊

@@chromee2007 The planet has been around for 4.5 bil years, but the first telescope was invented 400 years ago. Besides how would they even know we're here? We've been transmitting EM waves for the last 100 years. It is impossible to imagine how that could work. One thing is for shure, each time, self-centered egoistic humans thought they are in the middle of everything and are most important - science proves them wrong.

@asiamies9153

@@scoper7897 Even if you were the most advanced civilization possible, you could likely not travel faster than the speed of light. In 1974, we sent a message (the Arecibo message), which contained encoded information about the human race, DNA, atomic numbers, Earth's position and other information, towards the globular cluster Messier 13, which is about 25000 light years from here. So it first travels 25000 years and then, the hopeful response would take another 25000 years to reach us back and that distance is still small in the scale of the universe. The distances are simply too great with respect to the laws of physics to even contact someone or something. That's radio. The other thing is that telescopes are also bad (atleast currently) for looking for life. We cannot even see the nearest known exoplanet, Proxima Centauri b, which is just 4.2 light years from here. We can only deduce its existence because something is pulling the star, Proxima Centauri, as it does not stay perfectly still. In other words, zero proof (so far) means absolutely nothing. If our scientific instruments (and the laws of physics) were several orders of magnitude "better" and we still couldn't contact or find anything, your claim would be slightly more convincing than 0, which it is now.

if you want a better interpretation on the size scale, when we are shown the ball which represents 1 billion kilometers, followed by the alpha centaur star, you should have put 42,000 balls of 1 billion kilometers between the two stars , because a light year represents 10,000 billion kilometers, when we think that Pluto is only 6 billion kilometers away, we realize to what extent space, even inside a galaxy, is consisting of 99.999% empty space. and unfortunately this kind of animation doesn't help people at all to actually be able to interpret the actual distance between objects in the sky, when your billion mile ball is halfway to a star in a animation, while in reality, this star should be 42,000 times further away, it takes time to clearly realize the distance

I hate how unimportant this makes everything seem. In reality, in this vastness, there is no way to know how important anything really is. Our lives could be having an inconceivable impact. But, we also, could just be, nothing. It's also insane to think about just how much stuff there is. I mean, there is sooo much stuff. Thing after thing after thing after thing. There are probably things out there, that we can't even conceive of. I'd imagine our entire understanding of everything could be altered just by simply observing from within one of the systems, in one of the galaxies, in one of the clusters, in the Universe. That's without having any way to know what even lies beyond what we can actually see. It truly is, as far as we know, the final frontier. Then again, for all we know it's only the beginning.

How amazingly huge the universe is! How much more amazing would its creator be!

Starting Point: Colomby France adjacent to the Church of Saint-Georges. Very well done!
Если во включенный телевизор без антенны посмотреть близко то точно такая же картинка получается как в конце этого видео)))Может мы где то там в этой матрице этого экрана находимся??)))

But if it's 13.8 billion years old, how can it be "seen" from 63 billion light years?

I apologize, Mr. Know-it-all. Since the Universe is 13.8 billion years old, and what is "seen" is light, I thought that light could not travel more than that time.

@@GGStuff It's not a dumb question at all. Just don't let idiots like @cityofseattleroleplay unsettle you. Being curious is good! The massive diameter (93 billion ly) of the observable universe shows how the universe expanded (and still continues to expand) over its lifetime of 13.8 billion years. An even more awe-inspiring fact is, that the most distant objects we're able to see are actually moving faster away from us than light due to the expansion of the universe. Of course their absolute speed does never reach the speed of light. In fact the space between does expand faster than the speed of light. Edit: If you want to know more about it, I recommend watching "Misconceptions About the Universe" by veritasium.

@@quasiZote Thank you very much for your comment. The last sentence of your answer: "In fact the space between does expand faster than the speed of light.", clarifies my doubt 100%. Every day I learn something. This is how an open and science-oriented mind works: clarifying doubts and not criticizing those who do not know. I also thank you for recommending the veritasium video to me. I will watch it with great interest.
Have seen so many of these, they're awesome. And this one is very impressive!! 😊
The Earth is once again at the center of the Universe, at least observationally, which is fairly important. Great video!

@@mehmetali4626 ----I agree. In essence there is no such thing as an 'actual infinite', however you can speak of a 'potential infinite'. We know that our galaxy exists, but it is difficult for the human mind to wrap itself around an entity that is 100,000 light years from one end to the other. And that is only one galaxy among billions. It does blow the mind, but that is the genius of our Creator.
