Hiroshima - Short Film

Ғылым және технология

(Warning: Viewer Discretion Advised)
Today, I want to share my latest work with you: "Hiroshima," a short film about one of the most important moments in history - a moment that must never be forgotten. With the looming threat of nuclear war, I hope this film will serve as a stark reminder of the devastation that awaits us if such an event is ever repeated.

It's early in the morning, so I watched this video in silence. It had more impact than I had expected. Many years ago, I was awarded with a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Strategic and Nuclear Studies. I was privileged to have visited both Hiroshima and Nagasaki. I stood directly under the epicentre at ground zero of the atomic explosion, where Shima Hospital once stood., 150m away from Genbaku Dome. I looked up to imagine what the explosion would look like when it was detonated 600m above me. I was engulfed with a sense of awe, but also extreme sadness because I knew that the nuclear explosion had instantly obliterated the city, eventually killing 140,000 people as the effects of rhe blast and radiation took hold. I've thought about the circumstances that could lead to a nuclear war since I was in my early teens, having grown up learning about what to do in a nuclear attack on the UK during the early eighties and at the height of the Cold War. I'll never ethically and morally accept any justification for unleashing such weapons upon humanity under any circumstances.

What about the argument that it saved more American lives (and Japanese lives) that would have ultimately been lost by continued fighting with Japan? Does a government not owe more to its own people than the civilians of an enemy state? What about the argument that the nuclear threat makes governments more reluctant to make war?

  • @carlosadriantinajerovelazc4338

@@user-vz4xs6zo2n About the first argument: most of those who study the matter now think that those projections of massive casualties from a full land invasion of Japan were highly unlikely. Not because a land invasion would have been easy, but because Japan was already defeated. Even when some officers and civilians were willing to die fighting, the country was ruined, and the Japanese government had actually tried to negotiate a conditional surrender before the dropping of the bombs, but the USA wanted an unconditional surrender, as well as to force Japan to surrender to them, before the soviets could invade Japan (they actually entered Japanese-occupied China on August 8th, between the two bombings). About the second argument: while it is true that the MAD (Mutually Assured Destruction) strategy has, to some extent, made some governments more reluctant to go to war, recent examples show that war hasn't been fully avoided. And, even if it's small, there's always the chance of an accidental launching (as it has nearly happened already) or a rogue party taking control of the nukes.

I'm Japanese. Born in Nagasaki, I have been taught in detail about the atomic bomb about the war since I was little. The atomic bombs have been dropped in both Hiroshima and Nagasaki. This is the horror of war. I think it's really pointless to involve civilians indiscriminately and fight. Don't make such a tragedy happen again. I'm a college student now, but I've understood since I was a child that I shouldn't go to war. It's a matter of course, don't kill people. Please don't want war. It's a sincere request. I want people all over the world to be peaceful. I'm sure it won't reach anywhere with just one student's voice. That's why I want everyone in the world to pray for peace. We don't want to die in the war. I want to live happily and end my life happily with my loved ones. There may be something strange because I'm using a translator. Thank you for reading to the end.

The initial blast flare was visible from over 1000km away and the mushroom cloud rose to a height of over 60km. The Tsar bomb was enormous. Today's average soviet warheads are estimated to have an average yield of around 800 kilotons, vs. the estimated 50 megaton yield of this bomb.

The number of Asian civilians killed by Japanese forces in the Pacific War between 1931 and 1945 reached 20 million. Even if the Allies dropped atomic bombs on Hiroshima and Nagasaki in retaliation every year from 1945, killing 200,000 people, it would have to continue until 2045 for the same thing to happen. However, Japan enshrines the remains of war criminals at Yasukuni Shrine, and the Prime Minister and high-ranking government officials officially visit the shrine every year. The Japanese government is glorifying war criminals by calling them the souls of heroes. They are deleting or downplaying from textbooks the crimes that are 100 times greater than the crimes they committed, and they are pretending to feel sorry for the damage they have suffered by inviting the G7 to Hiroshima. I think this is kind of a joke.

Perhaps if you saw the war crimes committed by Japan, such as Unit 731, your conscience would be much more affected. Also, it would help your conscience to know that the number of civilian deaths they killed was 100 times that of the atomic bombs dropped on Hiroshima and Nagasaki. Additionally, if you learn that Japan has placed the remains of war criminals at the Yasukuni Shrine, glorifying and praising them as the souls of heroes, and having high-ranking government officials, including the Prime Minister, pay their respects "officially at the national level" every year, do you really believe that Japan has a conscience? @@Torbintime The before and after relationship was wrong. Bin Laden first committed 9/11, and the Afghanistan operation was carried out to eradicate terrorists. It's a legitimate operation. Japan was a country where religion and politics were not separated, and people believed that the king was a god. The entire nation was like a group of fanatics. In these countries, civilians and soldiers cannot be separated. During the Pacific War, Japan killed 20 million civilians in the Asian countries it invaded, and in 1944, it sent out 9,000 balloon bombs that could have landed on any country, including Canada, the United States, and Mexico, and if successful, the poison gas developed by Unit 731. They planned mass civilian massacres using In addition, even after dropping two atomic bombs, they still prepared a plan to take advantage of the entire nation and fight back with suicide terrorism until the end. If Japan had fought fair and square without harming civilians but had fallen victim to the atomic bomb, we could feel sympathy for them. However, Japan only lost because it had no technology and weak military power. If Japan's military power and technology had been strong, many more American civilians would have died, and if Japan had developed the atomic bomb first, Japan would have used all the atomic bombs it could make. It would have been dropped on the United States. At that time, Japan as a whole was a criminal group, and rather than a country with normal, rational judgment, it was a group of psychopathic fanatics with an irrational way of thinking. In fact, a survivor who was a Japanese soldier at the time recalled that even when he committed war crimes and massacred civilians, he did not feel any guilt because he believed that the Emperor of Japan was a god and could never make a wrong decision. Above all, Japan emphasizes the damage it suffered from the atomic bomb, but does not reflect at all on the war crimes it committed.

I have told man all about the destiny he is concerned about. I have opened for man all My mysteries, mysteries hidden for over 5,900 years, Who is Jehovah? Who is the Messiah? Who is Jesus? My work revolves around these names. How should My holy name be proclaimed? How should My name be spread in any among the nations that call Me by any of My names? When I return again, the nations will have been divided by the boundaries set by My blazing fire. At that time, I will again manifest Myself to mankind as the scorching day, showing Myself openly to them in the image of the Holy One they had never seen before, walking among so many nations, as I, Jehovah, once walked among the Jewish tribes. There they will certainly see My glory, and they will also certainly see a pillar of cloud in the sky to guide them in their lives, because I will appear in the holy places. Everywhere in the world, people will bow down, and My tabernacle will be firmly established in the midst of humanity, upon the foundation of the work that I have now accomplished. Newborn lambs and calves will be piled on top of the holy altar. I will tear down the present temple and build a new one. Because My WORK has been ACCOMPLISHED in you, I will STRIKE you as JEHOVAH struck the SHEPHERDS of the HOUSE of DAVID in ISRAEL, which will CAUSE you to SCATTER to every NATION. Because in the LAST DAYS, I will CRUSH ALL the COUNTRIES into LITTLE PIECES and will try to redistribute their people. ☀️ When I RETURN AGAIN, the NATIONS will have been divided by the borders SET by My BURNING FIRE. At that TIME, I will reveal Myself to mankind again as the LAST DAY, showing Myself OBVIOUSLY to them in the IMAGE of the DIVINE they have NEVER SEEN, WALKING in the MIDST of so many nations, as I, JEHOVAH , was once WALKING with the JEWISH tribunes. Anyone can't imagine truly that the river is full of corpses, tremendous huge mushroom cloud is in front of you, and myriad zombies are wandering, or struggling, asking for water.

Vishnu is trying to persuade the Prince that he should do his duty and to impress him takes on his multi-armed form and says, "Now I am become Death, the destroyer of worlds." Well, many experts in ufology claim that the moment humanity achieved nuclear power status and started testing A-bombs, "aliens" took notice and started keeping humanity on check. Probably they put us on the threat list as "dangerous, bloodthirsty type 1 civilisation". It's clearly that A-bombs not only affect our dimension, but other dimensions too from where these "aliens" come. Humanity is not alone and it can't do what it wants. There are advanced civilizations out there that keep things in control. We won't be allowed to destroy the balance. We will be contained as "a killing virus".

I would also like to add to not forget about your Asian neighbors, like China, both North Korea AND South Korea, Philippines, Vietnam, etc. Japan is also guilty in those areas, but even then I don't think it's morally justifiable to drop nuclear weapons on people that had nothing to do with what their emperor was doing. I hope one day we can learn to set aside our differences and learn to build each other up instead of tearing each other down. We need to do it before it's too late.

You have managed to achieve something Christopher Nolan deliberately chose not to pursue in his film "Oppenheimer": a vivid portrayal of the formidable power of a nuclear weapon. Nolan's commitment to practical effects over CGI may have influenced the film's visual representation, which some might argue lacked the expected dramatic impact. The film opted for simpler visualizations like a fireball, noticeably omitting the iconic mushroom cloud, which could have conveyed the magnitude of the event more forcefully. As a result, "Oppenheimer" may be perceived as one of the more pretentious endeavors in cinema, attributed to a director who is quite fond of his own press. Your work, in contrast, fills this gap, offering a depiction that captures the intensity and significance of one of the most crucial and dynamic events in human history. This addition was precisely what was needed, and for that, you deserve commendation and my sub!

The point of that film was not the gore of the actual use of the bomb. There hve been many documentaries of Little Boy's and Fat Man's explosion, and that in itself would fill out an entire movie. This shortfilm inserted into Oppenheimer would be like insterting Venom in Spiderman 3.
