Journey - Faithfully and Dont Stop Believin - Oct 7, 2018

Ойын-сауық

Please refrain from hurtful comments. I know to some of you he may not sound as good as Steve Perry BUT in person he is very close and I had a blast at the concert and would pay to see them again. Matter of fact I would pay to go see almost all the 30+ different groups/concerts that I went to the 12-18 mths pre-covid.
The concert was at The Forum in Inglewood, CA - www.inglewoodarena.com/ I had tickets for the 5th row.
The end of the first part of the concert ... so sad. They were really good!

Arnel Pineda is one of the greatest stories in the history of rock music. The respect he has for Steve. The way that through a miracle, he resurrected an iconic band which was desperate to find a way to continue forward. How a once homeless kid sleeping in the park in a third world country, collecting bits of metal for a scrap of food would against all odds, go on to live not just the American dream, but the pinnacle....the rock and roll dream. Crazy, Straight out of Hollywood.

I'm such a HUGE fan of Arnel!!! To me he saved the band....when Perry left them high and dry and thinking arrogantly no one could possibly replace him......here comes Arnel!!!! Super nice guy and humble as hell.....because of how he lived on the streets in Manila as a child he started an organization that feeds all those homeless children. We need more Arnels in this world. 😇😄

I have performed on various stages from a 'regular' stage to a pirate festival. With a regular stage show you go on at 8pm ish and are usually off the stage at 10pm ish. For a festival (renn fest, pirate fest, etc) you are on the grounds at 7am if they have Human Combat Chess and you are in that then a morning meeting at 8 then gates open at 10am and do not close till 6pm ish. The whole time you are talking, singing, fighting, etc. So yea ... I understand which is why I can usually cut the bands/singers some slack. Only 2 bands out of the 30+ in the 12-18 mths pre-covid would I think about not seeing again.

I think they are going to play until the end... hopefully another 4-5 years. The band instruments gods are also getting old and tired. Father time is undefeated. Let's enjoy the songs and the inspiration behind the band's resurrection. Love Steve Perry and adore Arnel for the personified version of Don't stop believing and after all this years. I first time saw Journey in 1980, at Oakland "Day on the Green II, at the colosseum. 5 bands were playing that day. Some band called Shakin Street, Cheap Trick, Molly Hachette, Black Sabbath (With Ozzie) and Journey highlighted. (The Bay area after all). I have to admit I was so tore up, don't remember most of it, but woke up for Ozzie and Journey.

I had tickets to see them again in 2 days (May 23). Was really looking forward to it but of course with Covid it was cancelled as well as the other 4 concerts I had tickets for in May. I like music and so I get to quite a few concerts :)

ARNEL PINEDA a damn RESPECT for what he did to this band.He is not taking the credit away from anyone to whoever formed this group. He is just there sweat and blood showcasing what a Filipino can do if ONLY will be given a chance.Sometimes,a person just need a CHANCE to redeem himself/herself and show the world that he/she is something else.We are so proud of you AP!!! 🇵🇭🇵🇭🇵🇭

There's a point in these tours when the lead will just tire. At a high tenor set by Steve in his younger years, I am just amazed Arnel can still hit these notes. Singing these songs is truly a feat and why is there only Arnel in all the world to have replaced Steve. Guess..... Keep rested though it's hard. I've seen and felt how strenuous the concert is. The musicians doing their best even after the concert for fans when all they need is rest. All for us fans reliving our own memories...

There's 8 billion people on Earth...Replacing Steve Perry is something that is incredibly rare. Steve Perry's performances were next level ,he was gifted by God. So just coming close to replacing him vocally is epic but not something someone can do every night... GOD MADE ONLY ONE STEVE PERRY.

Too late to recruit this guy. I saw him perform in his 30's, he's a bad ass. He sang from 8pm-3am when I attended his gig. I would say he can't hit those notes anymore, he hit them with ease 20 years ago. At least we saw journey so alive again since perry left.
