I have been a fan of journey since my early thirties. I am a 78 year old woman now and I think they are better than ever. I an so glad the young people today are getting to hear their sound. Arnel brings something special to the band.

Just for the record, it is already 2022..and Arnel Pineda is still doing incredibly well as a lead singer of Journey! What was more amazing was that Journey performed in New York Times Square on New Year's Eve as the prime performer in that iconic event with millions of people watching!- That was such a rocking amazing performance Hats off!

Thank you Arnel for representing Steve's legacy so well, this past Saturday I had the honor of seeing you sing, what energy, what voice, long live rock and Journey.

As a Filipino Im so proud Arnel Pinefa was choosen being the VocalistJourney band

I felt moved when I read Arnel Pineda's life-story. When his mom died they were broke. To ease his father's burden, Pineda quit school and started working. He spent about two years on the streets, sleeping wherever he could: in public parks, or on a narrow bench outside a friend's crowded house. He earned meager money by collecting glass bottles, newspapers, and scrap metal and selling them to recyclers. He would also go to the pier with his friends and take on odd jobs like cleaning scrap metal and docked ships. He didn't have much to eat. When Pineda was 15 years old (1982) he became the lead singer of the Filipino group Ijos, and later Amo. Didn't earn much but more than before, a rising curve started after he began singing in that band. In 1990 he and 5 other band members from Amo formed a new band called New Age. They worked in Hong Kong from 1991 to 2006. Back in Philippines in 2006 he formed a new band, called The Zoo. They became known on youTube performing cover songs by Journey, Survivor, Aerosmith, Led Zeppelin, Air Supply, The Eagles, Kenny Loggins, Stryper and other popular acts from the 1970s, 1980s and 1990s. In the summer of 2007 Neal Schon of Journey contacted Pineda, asking him to come to USA for an odition as the new lead singer for Journey. On December 5, 2007, Pineda was announced as the new lead singer of Journey and the rest is history, as they said. He really fought hard to get where he is today and of course, indeed he deserve it. it's not easy to fill Steve Perry's shoes, but if someone could do it, it was Pineda. It was very lucky for both Pineda and Journey that he became the new lead singer. It was a deal made in Heaven. amen.

He isn't doing a Steve Perry impression. This is just how Arnel sings. If Steve Perry had died then I would say he had been reincarnated as Arnel. His voice is absolutely amazing. And come on people... You can't tell me you don't love hearing these songs again in such a familiar way. It's like replacing (and I use that word loosely) Freddie Mercury with Adam Lambert. It's not a replacement or someone trying to sing just like him, but it is someone who gets the spirit of the music they are performing and are respecting the way it was intended to be sung and performed. Omg, the voice brings out the same emotion as Steve

I don't think Arnel is getting enough credits from the audience. Know how difficult is it to sing Open Arms in Steve Perry's voice range? Arnel sang his heart out in this performance. Great job, Arnel!

I agree. With Steve gone im glad to be able to listen to Arnel sing his heart out and do a good job at it. Steve voice was just an amazing thing to listen to but he is retired and well I guess we have to say it is what it is.Thanks Arnel for keeping it alive.
