About:
Bruce Springsteen & The E Street Band’s first tour in 10 years ended with an emotional series of 10 concerts at New York’s famed Madison Square Garden. Live In New York City, featuring performances from the last two nights of that tour (chronicled partially in an Emmy Award-winning HBO special), captures “the heart-stopping, pants-dropping, house-rocking, earth-quaking, booty-shaking, love-making, legendary E Street Band” as Bruce and his blood brothers embarked on an exciting new musical chapter together. I was 20 something when the towers fell and mostly listened to rap music. I knew born in the USA and dancing in the dark but then the rising came out and he performed at the superbowl and my city of ruins was on the fundraising commercials for 9/11 and I liked what I heard so I dove deep and bought the dvds of this concert and I saw live in Barcelona on tv and bought that dvd and was hooked. Then went through a tough break up with a girl I’d been with since high school. Over ten years. Lowest point in my life you can guess where I was. Luckily I had a dvd tv in my car and a big sound system from my rap music. I watched the dvds everywhere I went and along the way Bruce saved my life. It’s a spiritual connection that his music reaches that’s why he’s the best. Best live performer ever. No question. Now I’m 43 with my first child. A 4 and half year old son who is literally my mini me. I’d play Bruce for him when I’d change his diapers. Now close to five he steals my phone every chance he gets and puts on badlands and Atlantic City from this concert. Bruce is the only artist he knows by name and listens to him over and over and mimics his guitar playing and stage performance. Truly spiritual and transcendent. Fills my heart with the most happiness a person can feel. Sorry so long but to truly explain what this man has done for me and the world took a while. All I can say is it’s more than music it is truly a spiritual experience. Thanks to anyone who reads this whole post.

To the 430 people who down voted this masterpiece, you all have no clue what great music is. In my opinion, this is quite possibly the best song ever written. I've been listening to Bruce for as long as I've been alive, including in utero. That sax solo is everything that's beautiful in this world, it has always made me cry every time I hear it for as long as I can remember. I'm so grateful I was able to see the Boss live before Big Man died. Hands down, the BEST concert I've ever been to. This entire album is GOLD and has helped me tremendously through the worst breakup of my life. Many thanks to the one and only Boss and the E Street band 😭❤️🙏

I used to blast this song full volume out of my car at night as I drove alone around the Welsh hills. Scared an awful lot of sheep, but man I wasn't in Wales I was burning up the New Jersey turnpike!!! The priceless gift that Bruce and his songwriting gave me was a belief in myself and the knowledge that there was something better out there. I'm 66 now and yes, life's been pretty good to me. Thank you Bruce!

This song really is a masterpiece. The tension of the piano under everything. The hopelessness of the organ solo that comes in after the Big Man's solo transitoioning to the hopefulness of the piano solo. The shot of Clarence before his solo getting his mind and heart right - and make no mistake, he bled his entire soul into that horn. And the Boss' vocals...man, this song is a masterpiece. And I've seen several commenters mentioning how young Bruce was when he wrote this song. I think Gregg Allman was 19 when he wrote Whipping Post and Dreams - perhaps the Allman's two best known songs. Anyway, I'm really grateful to be rediscovering Bruce as I have. I need to see him live.

" it ain't. No sin to be glad you're alive." Those lyrics came later but it's how I feel. Thanks Bruce

It's almost like it took something out of both Bruce and Clarence. Bruce had to touch him to show his love. What a beautiful thing !

Where Bruce got this song from cannot not be fathomed by those of us who can only marvel at how it is delivered.Leaves the audience exhausted as along with his magnificent talented band he delivers another spellbinding performance.

This is, no doubt, the song Jon Stewart referenced when he said, "When you listen to the music of Bruce Springsteen, you are not a loser. You are a character in an epic poem...about losers."

EPIC! Epic dramatic song. Epic lyrics, pure poetry. Epic piano and guitar work from Roy and Steve. And that poignant sax solo is beyond epic. RIP Clarence and Danny. Happy Birthday for yesterday Bruce! Please have many more of them!

The Big Man’s solo ranks right up there with Hendrix, Page, Clapton, Frampton you name em. He steals the show, pure talent and power, AMAZING
