    Pescador de Hombres! I am the Disney Golden Age Generation. I kinda made that up, although I have heard of "The Golden Age of Disney"- 1989-1999. No other intelectual, or psychologist, has ever helped me understand the pyschological significance of some of these great movies that I and SO MANY OTHERS who are NOW ADULTS, and parents even, saw SO MANY TIMES. We didn't really understand, or could explain, WHY, we saw these movies so many times. Mine is The Little Mermaid, and before that Sleeping Beauty. What I really want to say, as I always do, is THANK YOU! It all makes sense now. ALL OF IT. It brings me peace, and confidence. And of course, now all movies seem to suck in comparison. People need to create new stories, and stop making these remakes and manipulating us. It's not going to work. Not at all. Thank you SO MUCH. Te amo!

    I think Nietzsche's übermensch coming to revaluate all values for himself is more relevant now than ever; We are seeing a decline in traditional religious practice and a simultaneous explosion of 'religiosity' (the human need for communion, ritual, morality etc). This means the world is a petrie dish of germination for new religious movements (wokeism, influencers, life-coaches etc) and so a possible hell in the making or the emergence of a syncretic religion. Individuals are exploring this and coming up with their own values to navigate this landscape. Figures like Jordan help it along by integrating them. We are in unprecedented times.

    Aren't we overthinking things a little bit here? The sunrise= Morning Pride Rock= Castle/Kingdom Cub is born= Prince is born The Prince is presented to the crowds becsuse he will one day be "King", instead of the current King's brother (Scar) It's the plot point that sets the whole movie in motion....thats it. It's a Disney movie. We're not talking about big thinkers here. If we were, they would have been faithful to the original story it's based on.

    It's amazing how a sufficiently smart and wise and educated person can take anything at all and analyze it into a deep and interesting story. I bet you could get AI to generate a random collection of sentences and Dr Peterson could tell you a whole story about what it means and why it's important for your life.

    That would be just rambling about nothing, which is not the case here. This is a story that has profoundly impacted our lives, a story that we keep watching and being interested in, likely due to its archetypal undertone. Making giants out of windmills is something scammers and dishonest people do :)

    Although one fact was missing. The entire Lion King story was stolen from Kimba, a japanese animation. But that would be another discussion of originalities. Story analysis wise, I'm wondering if Dr Peterson would love to dissect Attack On Titan tv series.. i can't stop watching it in awe after once went through your lecture about Pinocchio & Lion King... (Which I also listened in awe)

  • @excession3076

    @excession3076

    Жыл бұрын

    Or it was stolen from Shakespeare and Hamlet. That's kind of the point that JP has been trying to get across, the stories are archetypes and have been told for thousands of years. What he is interested in is why the same stories are told over and over again and they transcend the "rational" and appeal to something deeper/spiritual and yet they are understood at some base level. So we keep wanting to hear them.

  • @williamsastrawanto6501

    @williamsastrawanto6501

    @@excession3076 what I mean is, the entire Lion King story is literally plagiated from Kimba. Not the archetype. And like I mentioned, it's another kind of discussion out from the topic of the content.
