I like that Jon doesn't make his past into some sensationalised story to warrant sympathy. He just says it as it is, which is something I can appreciate.

Love the podcast and this was the perfect first episode. The look on Renee’s face whenever Jon talks about his past is love personified. She obviously knows a lot of what he’s saying already, but you can tell it still affects her hearing what he went through.

Damn. I used to do to walk around with my boys late night and check for unlocked doors too. Definitely no judgement on that here. I've come a long way from those days.. honorable discharge from military, college graduate, radio personality, successful career. Thank you for opening up about that Mox. You and Renee are incredible individuals and I'm looking forward to watch this show grow!

Unfortunately Steve approached it in such a way that it was like he was attacking Jon's character. Choose your phrasing carefully. If you call someone "lazy", or "undisciplined", or imply that they had a bad upbringing before he even talks about it, you're not communicating with care and probably won't get what you ask for.

Fucking picidillie square. I'm sure I spelled that wrong but that place is still a shit hole even though they've done some remodeling and what have ya. My woman lived there at one point several years back. She said she couldn't wait to get the fuck outta that place. It's cool hearing Mox talk about all these places that are right around my part of town here. Glad he was able to pull himself out of these shot holes and really make something of himself. I've done the same thing but nowhere near the level he has. Hes a light at the end of the tunnel for all those people that dont think theres a way out of these places without leaving on a prison bus or in the back of a hearse. Of course it's not gonna be handed to anybody but surprisingly enough it doesnt take as much to get out of the ghetto as many people try to make it out to be. If a person has a little bit of get up and go and truly want to get out of these places then they will find a way. They cant try to get out of these places and then keep coming back there hanging with the same crowd of folks and expect to not end up living right back in the slums. I mean you can come back and see family or what have ya but if someone wants to get out and stay out they have to get out and change who they are and keep focused on the goals they set for themselves. Once they achieve a goal raise the bar higher and set another goal and just keep smashing goal after goal and they will soon just be a distant memory and at the same time a shining beacon to those other folks from hoods everywhere that there is hope to climb out of the gutter and stay out. That's what Jonathan Goodman aka Jon Moxley aka Dean Ambrose gives to those that need proof that anything can be accomplished if your mind is in the right place. I'm proud of my hometown boy The Lunatic Fringe and I'm not talking about W.E.B.N. The Luniatic Fringe of Cincinnati 102.7 fm Cincinnati's original Rock Station.

Me too well a little further out of Cincinnati but all these places where and still are my stomping grounds. My wife lived down in Picadilly square years ago. Place has and will probably always be a shit hole. It's just weird where it located because everywhere around is either big stores or some really nice big expensive ass homes. I mean right out front of the entrance of piccadilly is a Starbucks some big gym and a huge Krogers market place straight across Beechmont Avenue. If you roll on down over the hill a little ways in Mt Washingtown theres a few shit while apartments but till even down there is some pretty nice homes. Hell several Cincinnati bengals players even live around that area and over towards eastgate which I'm sure you know is only about 10 minutes or so away from Picidilly square. It's weird in that area because you can roll into some ghetto apartments and pull out of there and be in neighborhoods that have million dollar homes in just a couple turns. It's like theres pockets of ghettos on the east side of Cincy but for the most part its middle class or upper class homes. These areas are still 9only about 15 minutes or so from downtown Cincinnati. Seems like downtown and the westside is where you'll find more ghettos street after street. The north and eastsides of Cincy has some of the best and nicest neighborhoods in the city. The Southside which is northern Kentucky has some nice homes as well without as many hoods. Dont get me wrong theres still hoods mixed in places around there but nowhere near as many consecutive hoods like downtown and on the westside.
