After reading this extraordinary book, I finally got around to watching the movie and I have to say that I really believe Angelina did a very good job. May Louis Zamperini rest in peace. A true hero.

I read the book and couldn't put it down. After I finished reading it I wanted to know more about Louie and still do today. I am waiting to see the movie. I can not even say my life ever came close to Louie's but I could relate with it in my own way. I was wounded in Vietnam and spent a year and half flat on my back in a V.A. hospital. It was the worst time of my life , but I am still here at 71 years of age and still going strong. Thank you Louie and may you rest in the hands of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Please read the book, I don't know why she left out every bit of his faith n and relationship with Jesus. That is at the heart of his love and joy! But I know my word doesn't mean much to strangers, so please PLEASE read about the whole lie of this wonderful man!! :)

Because he told her to leave a lot of it out because he wanted the movie to reach everyone, not just the religious.

Amy Lynn Hunt I honestly don't think I'd see it if it was filled with his religious belief. It says at the end of the movie that he believed his faith got him through and he "thanked God". God had nothing to do with it.

The sequel will explore more of his faith. He wasn’t a religious person until after the war when he gave his life to Jesus at a Billy Graham rally. While at sea and in captivity he prayed constantly for help, yet as soon as the war was over he kind of forgot about it. His nightmares wouldn’t go away but after he surrendered to Jesus, he never had a nightmare again. Look for this part of the story in the sequel.

I just learned Ms. Jolie was the director of the movie that I watched last night. I thought it was a new movie from Netflix. Mr. Louis Zamperini is a true Christian who lived a life to honor Jesus. I hope many people can believe in God and accept Jesus as their savior as they read or watch his story.

@@christianaguayo2772 That theres no proof that god is real. Litteraly nothing and people who think he is go, "BELIEVE BELIEVE" I did when I was younger then I realized if Santas not real then how is god they're both examples of how people try to aolve problema sometimes by making something up and accepting it to make themself feel better

These movie has zero character development and is only one visuse scene after another and they go on and on and on. Really a terrible movie and it doesn't even tell the point of the real story. Of cause the end is about the redemptive heart that comes in the belief in Jesus Christ, but Hollywood sure doesn't want that out there only the mean and cruel part.
