Out of nowhere, she found these lovely talented actors. They were incredible in the film. Take Jack O'connell, not only his acting was amazing, his Italian-American accent was flawless despite he is British and a ginger. I love Emily Blunt and as for an established actress, her accent was so terrible in Sunshine Cleaning as playing an American. Miyavi is also so memorizing despite the film was his first big acting project. The whole film was really a newly beautiful breath of fresh air. Congratulation to Jolie as well as a director.

JACK O'CONNELL is one of the greatest actors of his generation, outstanding actor
I highly recommend this movie it was a great movie and a tear jerker but Angelina Jolie did a great job and I loved the actors and I'm reading the book right now and it's really good so far
Definitely looks like an Oscar worthy film, I think

I only watched the movie because of Miyavi but I ended up falling in love with story and the history of what happened. I like that he carried the Olympic torch in Japan, that was lovely.

This movie was beautiful, I LOVED it she did an amazing job.
I died laughing when Miyavi said he couldn't understand Jack's english because of his accent. That must have been hard lol. Miyavi is a talented actor. I never knew of him before this movie.
The film was great! Acting, plot and message was all well presented, definitely deserves an Oscar!
I'm beginning to find that I respect Angelina a lot more as I watch this. It's also nice to see her looking so healthy and vibrant after this little health scare a few years ago.
she has an unbeatable smile..just stunning
Of all the World War Two movies out there, especially ones made in this decade, this movie was by far the best. It really did emphasize the human spirit and resilience. A little bit of gore, but not too overdone to the point that it becomes tiring and you lose the audience halfway. It shows the war wasn't just about violence, rather it played on human emotions as well. I saw "Fury" this year with Brad Pitt, and I have to say "Unbroken" is way waaaay better. Highly recommend this to anyone!! :)

I know this is 6 years late... (KZread algorithm brought me here) But I completely agree. Although Fury is absolutely incredible and have watched it MANY times, Unbroken is still beats it. But I genuinely don't think anything, will top Saving Private Ryan. (But that's just my opinion)

Hacksaw Ridge is a close second. Too bad Andrew Garfield prayed to Desmond Doss and channeled a familiar spirit to have it act through him. But until I saw the interview where he admitted that I sorta preferred Hacksaw Ridge because it had a formerly favored actor in it. Well, off to weeding out dvds I used to like.
Jack O'Connell is one of the most underrated actors out there. They seriously sleep on him and give jobs to lesser actors like Harry Styles these days. Also Angie I mean she is just perfection

Maybe he doesn’t want that kind of fame. Imagine the level of pressure and lack of privacy and anonymity.
i am such a big fan of Angelina Jolie with all her previous movies but when i heard that she was directing such a meaningful and inspiring true story i was very interested in seeing how its all going to work out but from just watching this trailer it brought me to tears! just the damn trailer! i know that this will be such an amazing movie and i am so desperate to watch it! i think it could be (from what i have just seen) one of the most moving stories ever transformed into a movie. It makes it just that much more sad knowing that its a true story... R.I.P Louis Zamperini
what a wonderful human being she paid great respect for louie whom i feel i know quite well,
Jack O’ Connell is such a gorgeous fucking actor man, any role he’s a beaut.
She is super human
i went to this film because there were no other films for olders to watch in the cinema... when i started watching it i got so into it i felt like i was part of the movie. history started to seem so interesting for me. thank you so much. its the best film i have ever saw in my life

Laurita Venus Either you're mature for your age or I was too childish when I was 16, and I'm beginning to think I was the one who was childish ;P Anyway, yeah I kinda relate to that. I'm into movies with something that you can learn from it.

It's really great Angie chose O'connell as Louie. I can't imagine anyone other than him, he owned Louie, man. His acting skills touched my heart unforgettably.
this is my favorite movie, thank you so much to all the wonderful actors and angelina for bringing this inspiring and truly wonderful story to life!
Great style in the interview from all three , good eye contact and much better message.
I regret not watching the movie on the theater. It is a really touching and historical movie. Thanks Angie! I now respect even more... as one of the best directors.
The world sleeps on jacks talent
I loved it... makes me grateful to be alive without all those challenges!
Jack is a first class actor
Great,pure,open interview. Thank you Film4. :3
Agree...Jack pure real. To me ...best Actor saw in my 68 years
Thank you Angelina with you and Mr Zamperini Help I can now forgive my mother's cruelty.
It was interesting to watch through the whole movie, from beginning to the end. Well done!
OUTSTANDING FILM....I loved it.
This movie deserves an award and so Ms Jolie 👍👍👍
Thank you Angelina Jolie to choose jack.. He's such a wonderful and amazing actor
Great movie. Watched it today great plot and props to louie for his courage.
Best movie ever
this is beautiful
I love this movie so much
You beautiful, beautiful powerwoman!
I watched as I love Jack O Connell, and really enjoyed the film, I think Miyavi was superbly cast as the bird.
Great Job Ange
Angelina is great n jack o'connell great young actor.
Very beautiful, well done Angelina Jolie
Amazing choice, work, team! Congratulations!
Wish I was in this fantastic movie.
The best!
I find it so odd that he looks nothing like in the movie. I know he's covered in makeup and longer hair, but there's basically nothing that shines through and makes me certain that it's the same guy.

I could totally see her being nominated for Best Director at the Oscars one these days
how do these actors do their parts and focuse and be like them as the best they can
fantastic movie...a hard story to watch and Angelina jolie's first time directing and she did an absolutely fantastic job.
Great movie x
If a male had directed this he’d have been Oscar nominated
The story of Heidi Baker should be placed on screen. It's like machine gun preacher but way better and more amazing.
why is the subtitles on top
The raft part was actually my favorite because he was beaten every 5 seconds on the raft
I love this movie. It is unbelievable to me that anyone could endure this many trials. I believe the Lord Jesus Christ healed him because Louie allowed God into his life. Thank you for making this movie and telling this story.

Wow you created a Badass fucking movie !
I have never been a big fan of Angie, mostly because action movies are just not my thing and she was into them for so long.....I also have come to see her as being somewhat on the opposite side of Christianity, which is why her making this movie about faith in God on the coat tails of Maleficent makes me wonder what is going on with her......she promotes the devil one day and God another.....very interesting, and I am interested to see what she does next....movies bore me for the most part...I used to be a movie buff but they got really boring and lost me.....this movie is worth watching...I was riveted, to be quite honest....I will check out her next film for sure with a critical eyes that will look at the role faith is playing in the story....what are you up to Angie....?

Before she became a star in meaningless action movies, she acted in several well-known movies that showcased her acting talent, such as Gia and Girl, Interrupted. But she seems to have a purpose and a wider sense of the world than endocrinal impulse that appear to drive the majority of Hollywood and its productions.

Steven Mitchell You think....perhaps.....and I was a fan during the Gia etc years.....she was brilliant.....I think she is smart enough and independent enough and stubborn enough to find her own way through to truth....I think she has a bigger heart than Brad and most of Hollywood....I think she is DEEP......I think if we were put in a position where her fame did not interfere I would get on with her.....I am just watching with interest......

The diary of the Allied Forces captive in Japan. "We were given enough food" MacArthur. "Japan did not do any criminal act" "The United States advertised Japan as a criminal to the world" "However, it is the United States to have derived Japan to war" "The United States began war if the United States was driven into the situation same as Japan by other countries" The reason why this movie is criticized is to make clear fiction a historical fact. Watanabe did not start for its new post formally to a prisoners' camp. He returned to Tokyo by the order of the commander immediately. "Zamperieni was different from other captives, and he resisted a prison guard too much" "Therefore the prison guard hit him for order maintenance" The original. It "is Japanese traditional culture to eat a live human being" Japan does not have such a culture. A Japanese is different from a Chinese. Angie should make Chinese "modern man-eating culture" a movie. The sponsor of this movie is a Chinese group and a Korean group and a South Korean company. Government post same as MRVP of the Nazis is in Korea. It is an indirect sponsor of this movie. A purpose of Korean MRVP. "I change history textbooks of the world to the right history content that the Korean government created" The Korean government contracts with an American scholar, and the Korean government lets them write a product made in Korea fiction history article. The 90s. The American Chinese group demanded the investigation into barbaric act by the Japanese military from the U.S. Government. The last working papers of the U.S. Government. "There was no evidence to prove the barbarity of the Japanese military" Seoul university professor. "I was asked for an investigation into barbarity (comfortwomen) of the Japanese military by the Korean government" "I investigated documents of the world" "However, there was no evidence to prove the history that the Korean government insisted" on "However, there is the evidence to deny testimony of comfortwomen a lot" "The Korean government only wants materials criticizing Japan" Korean military top commander in the Vietnam War. For the cruelty that we performed to a Vietnamese private citizen, it is not that we should apologize. It is because it is war. The existing Park President. It "is to insult the honor of the soldier to criticize the cruelty (rape, plunder, arson, slaughter, etc) of the Korean military for the Vietnamese private citizen" In "war, it is natural that a private citizen becomes a victim" "Therefore the Korean government must not apologize to all war crimes victims by the Korean military"
LOL COOK'S ACCENT IS A MESS FOR EVERY FOREIGN SPEAKER
Why does Jack speak as if he's simple, all the time? Like he is a 12 year old? Or does he have an impostor syndrome? What's going on? I really liked him in L. Chatterley's lover.
