Музыка
Papa John Phillips is interviewed on the February 21st 1990 episode of "Later with Bob Costas". WKYC-NBC to cable to SuperBeta3 to 8mm to PC (sorry about tracking and tape shedding). Guy was a genius. I met him when he was touring with Scott McKenzie
What a great interview no denying John phillips gave a great interview he had a great witty disposition.
Absolute legend
I was born exactly one year after this interview lol
Sad story really....he was messed up....still sad.
"He was a juvenile probation officer." Ha. What a guy.
Poor fella even his own daughter switched on him. Genius and we still listen to his work today.
It's funny to believe that this was 33 years ago and he's talking about stuff that happened 30 years before that lol

"I heard her call my name," sounds like a good song title for somebody. I'll try adding lyrics to it after I finish "Drunk Hookup."
Very interesting

John was a rogue to put it mildly, but you can’t help but like the guy.
Denny was the man cass was amazing
Great Great interview. No pretentiousness whatsoever.
Mike love of the beachboys didn't mention John Phillips when he talked about that Song Kokomo.

That's because Mike Love is an egomaniac who thinks that the world should revolve around him.
I think you mean 32. 1980 would be 42.

Accusations that’s all. Mackenzie, after the sitcom of which she wasn’t even the star of faded into obscurity. She did drugs, blew her entitled life, and then plays victim by blaming Daddy for her failure.

@@kengarcia3834lol not like he didnt show a predilection for young women, he mentions here how he groomed Michelle from her young teens. He was a degenerate drug/alcohol addict. I believe her
Bob Costco needs to do his homework. Mama Cass did not choke to death! She died of a heart attack.

I wonder if Costas knew about all the allegations at the time of this interview.

Are you referring to Mackenzie? She didn’t go public with her story for almost 20 years after this interview and John had been gone for almost 10 by that time. But perhaps that’s not what you are referring to.

“Clearly”? Like based on this interview it’s just plainly obvious that he slept with men in addition to women? Are you deducing this based on his personality here? Are you detecting a little swish to his demeanor (as if no other creative or eccentric but heterosexual man ever displayed that) and therefore he liked the D as much as the other? Tell us what your definition of “clearly” is, would you?
