I love that at some point someone from Colbert's crew had to make a phone call that eventually led to one of Oliver's people needing to figure out how to transport a wax president in July. Can we just appreciate that for a moment? Because that's a thing that happened. Someone had to ask themselves "How are we going to transport our life-size figurine of a long dead politician without melting him with the sun, so that two grown men may bicker about and through their respective effigies? This is my job. This is what I, a grown adult, do in order to pay my bills."

It's rather unkind to generalise a group just because some people have certain views that conflict with your own within those groups, that's what attributes to the divides you see today. I, myself, am a person that may not have the greatest tolerance towards the actions of others on any 'side' and can sometimes make statements without thinking first, I think it best to also try to acknowledge the 'wrongs' we have committed (coming from my assumptions towards the conversation). Words aren't just words they carry intention, though what we try to convey may not necessarily be completely be represented in this brief dialogue. As this is a jovial conversation these may not represent your personal thoughts, if so apologies are offered to those that are offended. You can just take this as a statement coming from a rather flippant person and ignore it.

I would watch a one hour conversation between those two. That's a special they should do.
