John Lennon Jealous guy reaction| Sensitivity of a genius

Jealous guy John Lennon reaction.Lennon has a way of making a song sound like he is speaking directly at you or you saying the words you been trying to say,but didn't know how to.
That's exactly what John has done with Jealous guy.A truly masterpiece.

John Lennon always had the ability to reach into my chest, grab my heart, and squeeze. Ever so gently but squeeze nonetheless. You hit it right on the head: vulnerability! His voice is dripping with it in this song. Thank you so much for handling my heroes (Beatles) with such insight and sensitivity. John had a sweet, childlike side that emerged occasionally and just made him human in a very profound way.

Jealous Guy was one of the many songs The Beatles started when they were in India in '68. The recording is on The Esher Demos album released with the 50th anniversary of The White Album. Really? - I didn't know that (or maybe I forgot). Thank you. I'll listen to it again with that in mind. It's interesting though that the video strongly suggests Yoko as the subject to whom he's apologising. Was this video made later, after John's death? I seem to remember there being some remaking of history on another video post John's passing. Of course one can have several things going through one's mind when composing a song or any other artwork. For example, contrary to the usual understanding that Hey Jude is all about Julian, John said that he believed that after the first verse, it was actually really directed at him, John. Which does make lines like 'You have found her, now go and get her..' make a lot more sense.

Give Ringo's "It Don't Come Easy" a listen. George wrote it but credited the song writing to Ringo. I think George was concerned, after his ex-band-mates poorly received "Sentimental Journey" album, that Ringo needed a source of income lol. George produced it and plays on it. Ringo's "I'm The Greatest, written by John, features John on piano and backing vocals and George on lead guitar and Klauss Voorman on bass (without looking it up, quite possibly the bassist on Jealous Guy). You'll find that in Ringo's solo career he's gotten "by with a little help from his friends".

When I was 9, and my father died from an accident, later that night when i turned the radio on, hiding in my room from the world, The local radio station was playing their ""Beatle hour" which was three hours of beatles every Sunday night. The moment I heard the Beatles, I clung to their songs for comfort. The year was 1980, and Double Fantasy had just been released. I was jolted later that year when my hero John Lennon was shot. I lost two heroes in one year. The year before I lost Santa and God. Music has been my bastion of strength ever since. My father, and Lennon, McCartney, Harrison, Starkey, plus many of their contemporaries have become my heroes by memory again. Their music and memories still lives in sound and photographs. Sorry Santa.

This song melody was actually a totally different song he wrote for the white album, but it wasn't any good. A few years later he changed the words to jealous guy and the rest of the verses fell into place. These guys have stuff lying around just waiting for the right phrase to make the rest of the melody to click, and it may change the whole song. John and Paul normally would write straight through. But sometimes He would have snipets or half songs to blend together or totally scrap and rework with a new idea.

Taken in the context of earlier Lennon songs such as "Run For Your Life" from the Beatles album RUBBER SOUL, "Jealous Guy" can be read as John's repudiation of his earlier, younger self. John confessed that he was raised with English traditions, including no small degree of old-school sexism and misogyny. After he met Yoko, however, John rejected such views and practices, and "Jealous Guy" sounds almost like an apology for the attitudes and behaviors of his younger self.

Also, as noted in another comment, possibly more, elsewhere on this page, he did the cover art for the 'Revolver' album, and was a boyfriend of Astrid Kirchherr, who gave the Beatles their mop-top hairstyle thru her romance and eventual marriage to original bassist(not a bassist, just a friend in a position to fill in) Stu Sutcliffe, who died soon after; she also influenced the high-contrast b&w photos on the cover of their '63 debut.

This is why Lennon eclipses even the great Bob Dylan. His lyrics are so relatable. It’s Klaus Voorman on bass and, yes, Lennon mistreated Yoko. Voorman designed the album cover of Revolver. Spectacular production by Phil Spector.

Inspired to John when they were in India and aimed to be on the 68- white album as "Child of Nature" which is now on the 2018 white album remixed. As the theme was very closed to Paul's "Mother Nature's Son" they probably decided not to keep John's song in it. Being from the country I like both songs but to me Paul's song is a huge gem. I notice that John sets the song on a more concrete way from the first verse "On my way to Rishikesh" while Paul treats the same theme more essentially. ( contrary to their Penny Lane / Strawberry fields both dedicated to the theme of nostalgia.) Lyrics of the 71-Jealous Guy agree very well with the melody which seems to "keep" an oriental atmosphere (or close to Harrisson's "Within you Without" or "Blue Jay way")

While the Beatles were recording the white album John Lennon had recorded a song called "Child of nature" which never made it to the album , but was later released with the 50th anniversary of the white album, John Lennon later turned child of Nature into jealous guy . Please look up child of nature and listen to it . I promise you that you will like it

I think the Beatles may have had more songs post Beatles. I saw Cirque de Soleil in Las Vegas doing the Love album. That's definitely worth a listen now that your familiar with so many of the the Beatles songs.

Roxy Music covered this in early 1981 after Lennon’s death and Bryan Ferry wasn’t recording anything before this was written in 1968 in India as ‘Child of Nature’ originally

I think the Roxy Music/Bryan Ferry version was the first tribute song after Lennon's death. It was January or February of '81. A few months later came "All Those Years Ago" by George, a rewritten song that Ringo had rejected. ATYA features George, Ringo, and Paul. But it's still a solo song! Please have a listen.

The guy you mentioned is Klaus Vormann, an old friend of The Beatles who they met in Hamburg in 1960. Among other capabilities, Klaus designed the cover of "Revolver" and played bass guitar in several Beatles recording after their break up

Might have been mentioned by now, but the possible bass player you're complementing is Klaus Voormann, who frequently played on Lennon's solo albums (as well as for Ringo and George). He was a dear friend from early days in Hamburg. He wore "The Beatles haircut" before The Beatles -- a style of the Hamburg art set. He won a Grammy for his brilliant cover art for Revolver.
