Your comment about Stevie playing "guitar" via his keyboard brought to mind how much of a trailblazer he was with synthesizers, in a great part due to his producer and synth designer Malcolm Cecil. Heralded as a creative and engineering genius, Cecil created a synthesizer which was the first of its kind, and which caught Stevie Wonder's attention, who then used it on some of his most iconic albums.

There are so many sad songs that artists sing and I always wonder how they can get through them without crying. It's clear that some of them are beyond even the most talented of artists. This was very touching in that he meant to bring that spirit of hope in John's words, but Stevie's pain is so raw it hurts.

First time I've seen this Stevie Wonder clip. Very moving. It hit us all hard. I first found out when I woke up at 7am to go to work and I turned to the radio for a few minutes before I got up. Imagine was playing and I could never explain it but I knew something bad had happened. When the DJ came back and he said what had happened I was shook to the core , I couldn't believe it. I shed a few tears that day. His music was all over the radio for days.I was 24 when he died. John Lennons music had been a major part of my life. He still is, his legacy to music will never diminish.

There were so many artists in the 60s 70s and 80s that were ahead of their time because they understood that the only relationships that ever matter between each one of us and our creator that's the most important relationship if we've got that one right all other relationships can become better. I can see Stevie choking up while singing that song as a tribute to John Lennon because trust me even when Lennon would sing it when he was alive with no thought of anything like a tribute I found it very hard to keep from choking up just listening to it so I get it it tell such a perfect tail of the reality of what our relationships should be and where we we should be looking instead of where we look. A beautiful song sang by one of my all-time favorite R&B artists Master Stevie Wonder and I pray that he has many more years ahead of him.

IMAGINE by John "Lennon was inspired by several poems from wife Yoko Ono's 1964 book Grapefruit... Lennon later explained that the song "should be credited as a Lennon/Ono song. A lot of it - the lyric and the concept - came from Yoko, but in those days I was a bit more selfish, a bit more macho, and I sort of omitted her contribution, but it was right out of Grapefruit." "Lennon composed the song one morning in early 1971. It was written on a Steinway piano, in a bedroom at his Tittenhurst Park home in Ascot. Yoko Ono watched on as he composed the melody, chords and most of the lyrics, and nearly completed the whole song in one short writing session." Taken from "The Story of... 'Imagine' by John Lennon" by Tom Eames (October 2020).

Talking about songs bringing people together. I recommend The Seekers "I Am Australian" it reflects how the majority of Aussies View People. Most of Us will say "Hello!" and stop to talk with anybody, no matter where they're from. Don't worry about not being an Aussie, We'll be happy to Adopt Your Family as Honorary Australians. Plenty of My Fellow Aussies say it should be Our New National Anthem. But I don't think anyone could Sing it like Judith Durham. An American Couple recently did a Reaction Video to "I Am Australian" and clearly Loved it. It was one of their first New Songs when They Regrouped in the 90's. It was a Big Hit in Australia and Will Never Die in Our Country at least. If someone Says or Does Anything Offensive in Australia They Won't Get Away With It! I remember an Openly Racist Politician tried running for office. A News Crew turned up at His home and interviewed Him for National TV. They Gave Him Enough Rope and He Hung Himself. He lost the Election.

I remember that I was watching Monday Night Football, Howard Cosell announcing it and a good friend just showing up at my house on their way to an impromptu memorial gathering. It was on the grounds of the Seattle Center at a place still known as the International Fountain. It was built for the 1962 World's Fair so, given the theme of the "Century 21 Exposition", it was only too appropriate. Many years later a different group of mourners would gather at the same place at the news of Kurt Cobain's death.

Simply beautiful ♥
I'm a Dreamer too, Stevie. Love you, brotha. xx
Beautiful job Stevie ❤️😢
John Lennon will never die, for John Lennon will outlive us all and FOREVER! a BIG LOVE goes out to ya! Stevie Wonderlove, and to you HarriBest.Signed, Greg the Egg
Harri, you are the Best!! Thank you.
Wow, thank you for bringing that to us. One of, if not the most emotional performance I've seen.
Oh, god I felt that. That's all I can say. Words are not important. Feeling it is. Thanks, man.
Wow! That day is coming Stevie & John when we share our possessions and live as one. Wait till you all find out what has been going on. In the meantime, ya'll get right with your Creator!
Stevie has always been an angel sent from heaven to earth - his voice is pure light and beauty. To see him so distraught during the song is so heartbreaking (as it was to hear of John's death live on the radio that night).
You should react to Stevie Wonder and Paul McCartney singing Ebony and Ivory.
Weeping openly for the Love xxxx
I’m listening Harri. And I hear you. Never saw this and it brings that sad day all back. We all felt that way.
Stevie is such a great musician. Rock on Harry, you are my brother.
The audience reaction shows the huge amount of love for Stevie and John.
Heart felt emotions from Stevie wanting to preform it but all too much for him , it’s even difficult to watch , but a beautiful loving tribute to the great John Lennon , cheers for sharing 👍
Thanks for sharing this......sad and beautiful is a great summary, thanks again.
Very touchy made me cry to love John Lennon and he did a great job singing his song
Stevie you're a star like JOHN
Thanks for posting this, Harri. Very moving. Indeed Stevie has a special affinity for John Lennon and a deep respect.
I have never seen this and love Stevie and John. Nothing I can say will add to how beautiful this is. John and Stevie are not the only ones. I want a world where we all live as one.
'I hope one day you'll join us, and the world will be as one'... meaningfully signed, a secular humanist. Bless all of us 🙂
I was in tears watching this!
An ICON for an ICON! It just doesn't get any better than this!

My choir sing this at every ANZAC day memorial. So touching and we all sing it so proudly. I don't recall the politician you're talking about
No words..tears.
Wow that was amazing! Thank you for sharing. I never saw that before.

Yeah, I was watching that game too. Howard says that John Lennon was shot, and my dad said "Who Cares. Get back to the game!" Yep, that was my dad.
Just absolutely wonderful. His reaction speaks volumes about the great character of Stevie Wonder.
That was Beautiful!!! First time I heard this... Thank you Harri!!
This was amazing, very emotional. Thank you for introducing me to this
Omg, this is so emotional! Hard to watch someone break down like that.
John said Imagine if there's no heaven, not that there's no heaven. This song for me is the ultimate anthem of peace.
Stevie's crying was everyone living as one
There's something very very special about john lennon. I can't describe it...but I've had it since I was 9 years old. I'm 55 and I still have it. He's just special
It is about loving your fellow humans and show love and peace to one and other #PeaceandLove
This was so beautiful! I was only 9 but I remember when this happened it effected every adult I knew! RIP John
That was such a hard watch so so sad 😭 but well done Stevie
The instrument he plays is called a harpeji. There's a KZread video online where Stevie discovers this instrument for the first time and he *kills it.* Never seen it before.
Extremely emotional.
