That guitar solo alone earned Prince a spot in Heaven!
I’ve seen this a few times and it astonishes me every time. It’s just breathtaking. I just love the look on Dhani’s face when Prince is playing that solo! The whole thing is just so heartwarming. Thanks for requesting it Brandon! 🌺✌️
So many people today have no idea how great of a guitarist Prince was… another genius gone too soon 🙏🏻😢

As bizzare as this sounds, Prince is underrated in my opinion. It seems each generation has a handful of artists that operate on another level, Prince was one of them.

I am one of those. I never was a fan of his music and I had no idea how good he was until I saw this performance at the HoF. Pure genius and showmanship. And I understand he mastered multiple other instruments.
All these guys did an excellent job of covering this masterpiece by George Harrison!

Hi Mr. Harri, I like Mr. Carlos Santana's version with Ms. India.Arie on vocals better.. ♠W.G.
Prince was not only one with his guitar but it´s also the style, the moves, the look, the face expression, the way he dresses, the tempo, rhythm, and the art to put each note where it belongs and nailing it everytime. Without any doubts, a hard working genius with a hyper creative mind that could do anything and do it right in any music style, the most complete artist of all time. The greatest lost in the entertainment industry in all it´s history. The G.O.A.T.
Prince got inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame that night, too..so he was really feeling it! He kicked ass
I thought that was one of the best Prince performances ever!! But, I do agree that Steve winwood should have been shown more. He is a legend!!
Harri, you made me happy at your joy. This is a great version of a great song, they played it straight and then let Prince take it home and man did he ever. I was so happy for you my friend

Legendary performance for sure. Prince was a goat. I don’t usually get over emotional when we lose celebrities, but all the magical musical genius that was Prince made his passing seem like a true loss for the world.

I’m always taken aback when I see Dhani Harrison in this performance. It’s like looking at his father.
I believe the gentleman who played the first guitar solo on this iconic song was Marc Mann, who is an American keyboardist, guitarist, programmer, arranger and conductor. He has a Master's Degree in Music from UCLA. He is known for his work with Oingo Boingo, Jeff Lynne and the Electric Light Orchestra.

According to the stories, Marc Mann told Tom Petty that he didn't want PRINCE to play on this and Tom said absolutely he will. Tom and PRINCE were friends. Plus PRINCE was inducted that night. He P. didn't do that in the rehearsal. So Marc didn't even know P. was going to do all that. None of them did. Tom and PRINCE gave each other that look that this is great!
Yup. This IS the best Beatles cover performance, and given the great artists who have covered Beatles' classics, that says so very much. But the force of spirit, the genius among icons here who takes this to the next level is PRINCE. This is the moment where Prince ascends from "mere" superstar, prodigy musician to those honoured few of the Panthéon of all-time greats: Janis, Aretha, Marley...George, Jimi, Chuck... Prince's Holy Fire summons the spirits of BOTH George AND Jimi: they were THERE, you feel it, you know it, you're transformed by it. And of course it would be Prince: yes, he is Jimi's younger brother and George's spiritual fellow-traveler. But Prince is also the one who best embodied, took forth, and really GOT the Beatles' wild, jaw-dropping eclecticism, their fearless boundary-crossing, their androgynous challenge to gender, class, all of it, all of it, HE is the one who really GOT what the Beatles were truly doing and took it forth and made it his own. And now we've lost him, too. George, Jimi, Prince are lost to us but are now found forever "of the ages": While My Guitar Gently Weeps, indeed.
Prince he’s a top Guitarist one of the best there’s been in my opinion
Prince dropped the guitar and left the stage. He was just showing off and he brought the power and skill.
You’re a beautiful man! Amazing reaction! Thank you 🙏
For all the eccentricities Prince was his guitar playing was epic! I listen to this version often. Great reaction.
There's a story Stevie Nicks tells about Prince.. Stevie was on her honeymoon, and she was on her way up to the resort, driving in a car... When Little Red Corvette came on the radio. .. Stevie made her husband pull over and buy the tape after searching all over this mountain town for it lol... Prince had recorded a under lying guitar track mixed in a very unique way, and it haunted her... She tried and tried to get ahold of prince the following weeks, because she wanted to record a new song Stand Back using the mixing technique..I guess they had started recording that song and Prince snuck in and played synth...helped her record that special underlying track.. He got up to leave and Stevie was like "wait a minute.. we have to sign some contracts and decide on a fee.. he told her not to include his name on the song at all, and that he was honored to with with her, and snuck out the back door...i love that story. Great reaction.
Prince is a one man army 💜
Just… Prince. Legend has it that Tele is still vibrating

It was always so easy to forget how FABULOUS Prince was on guitar. Shredded!
Steve Winwood was excellent! You’re so right.
Rewatch it. Tom and Prince had a playful enjoyment performance. And both were gone in a close proximity. That is a special encounter and we got to witness it.
My favorite part of this is the look of joy and laughter on Dhani Harrison's face during the Prince solo.

Yeah, that was my reaction the first time I heard it too. Legendary performance.
I can see George and Prince in heaven jamming out. Makes me want to cry. RIP guys.
You were worn out by the time it finished! Totally 💯% blown away.
Prince also was inducted into the Hall of Fame that night. He performed his own set as well with his purple band.
Tom petty and Prince in heaven together with George making music together, loved watching this Prince is a legend
On George’s tribute show, his wife tells Paul “seeing Dhani on stage it looks like George didn’t age but you all got old” lol
Absolutely agree Harri!! Prince’s best solo!
RIP to the great Prince. So underrated on the guitar. What a beast.
The best cover of any song ever.
When Prince first hit the scene he had a song on his debut album called "I'm Yours." When I heard that for the first time I was thinking, okay, now this guy can play guitar! My impression only got more cemented as time went on, so when I first saw *this* I wasn't surprised one tiny bit. However, everyone on that stage is awesome. I think why Prince stands out so much, aside from a blistering solo, is that it's Prince, doing a classic rock cover. He seems so out of place, yet perfectly in place at the same time as if he'd been a lead guitarist in a rock band his whole life.
@keithroberts4952

Great performance... Great reaction.
I like watching Dhani's face. I was crazy about his dad back in the day.😉
The best always seem to die way too soon. You know, you just can't top that! RIP Prince. ♥ (Well, his Super Bowl performance is also my fav performance.)
RIP George Harrison, Prince and Tom Petty, a truly iconic tribute performance. I absolutely love the communication going on between Dani Harrison and Prince - their smiles are so fun to watch!
Prince's solo grabs you from the first note

Rolling Stone magazine is famous for its idiocy. They also left off Terry Kath of Chicago because supposedly the publisher Jann Wenner didn’t like bands with horns.
This performance is so much fun! I love watching Harrison's son. So Great!
The other performance you're thinking of is the Concert for George. Billy Preston was at that one. So were Paul McCartney, Ringo, Eric Clapton, Jeff Lynne, Tom Petty and others. The soloist here with the hat is Marc Mann.

Prince’s guitar needed a cigarette after that solo. Amazing solo.
Watched this live. Just totally blew my mind.
That smile on Dani’s face says it all!
Jeff Lynne (ELO) on vocals is amazing!
One of my favorite Beatles tunes and played by some of my favorite performers 👍
This is my first time hearing this performance too Harri. It’s perfection !!!!!!
Damn Prince looked sooo fiiiinnnneeee. I miss him sooo much 😪 When I was little. I used to think the song said " Steal my guitar, Jackie please."
Thank you for playing that--much needed. The Concert for George CD/DVD set is a treasure.
Prince at his best on the guitar. What a tribute to George Harrison.
Wha....? 😦 You painted over your beautiful red wall 😟 Oh well...your wall, your taste. I'll just miss it, is all. 😢 But you keep on rockin, awesome dude. I'll get over it. 😊💖

"Prince is probably the only person who I’ve seen who I would say is a true genius on the guitar.”---Eric Clapton.
Love this Prince solo!
I wish I could go back and see this for the first time. Prince is the coolest ever 😁
I totally agree Harri!! ❤️🔥❤️🔥
Wow what a fabulous group, Tom Petty sounds like George in this. Jeff Lynn of ELO another one I love. Steve Winwood and Prince RIP. Prince's playing made the song better.
Prince was soooooo amazing.. was there anything he couldn't do?. Rest easy brother. This vid makes me cry :)
I think this is when George Harrison was posthumously inducted into the Rock 'N Roll hall of fame.
Completely SPECTACULAR!!! Dhani Harrison looks so much like his dad!!!🎵🎼🎶🥁🎸🎧🎹🎙💜
Steve Ferrone, back there on the drums, is the most overlooked, masterful talent in this group of iconic artists!
Outstanding performance from everyone (especially Prince). Dani knew what was coming.
Years after he left the living, the world yet has to realize how spoiled we all are. Prince was special on another level..
That gave me goosebumps all over my body!
Jeff Lynne was awesome on vocals! Long live Jeff Lynne's ELO! Please Tour in 2023!
I love watching you enjoy music

Amazing. It gives Me goosebumps every time I hear it.
Thanks for sharing your joy in watching this truly exceptional live performance. As you said, all the players were great, and i agree with you about Steve Winwood (who in fact is also quite a good guitarist), but Prince just blew everyone away and his guitar was the one which weeped the most. Apparently, Prince did not rehearse his part but everyone else did.
I’m so glad you finally saw this. Love your joy!☔️💜
Absolutely incredible are the words I describe this.
I absolutely love guitar riffs absolute 🔥💯❤️
I absolutely love this performance. I remember when the original song came out, Dhani Harrison is the spitting image of his dad. Thank you for sharing Harri ❤
Sometimes I wonder if we all just hallucinated the magical being that was Prince. He was otherworldly. Maybe he was a mirage we all needed in our lives. 💜👑
Epic! I'm glad you watched until the end to see Prince yeet that guitar into heaven, and then just saunter off, like "bye bitches". Why not hurl the guitar into heaven since he killed it? Also that was Steve Winwood on the organ, and he killed it, too. I mean, they all did. Sometimes I watch this on repeat since it's so good.
Just magnificent!
