Thanks for covering another Lennon love song that was among the list I requested (don't forget the others! and Elvis 'Relax' !!! ! That's Nicky Hopkins (again) on piano, and two guitarists from Badfinger, Tommy Evans and Joey Mulholland, who often backed John and George and Ringo in their solo albums and concerts. I hope you might do reaction videos to Badfinger songs, they're tragic story is as bittersweet of a journey (for those new to learning the story) as that of The Beatles. His songs were painfully personal and revealing, which was not atypical in music. His first two solo albums were almost therapeutic in a way.

John definitely had his flaws, but I always respected him as a person, because he was brave enough to be honest and was always working to better himself. He had a rough start to life after all.

Great song and reaction, you are a beautiful soul. If I remember John had a fling around this time (Imagine album 1973) with another Japanese girl (I think her name was May Pang) for a short while, so this was probably a reflection on that.

He wrote the tune in 68 in India ! The Beatles did a demo ! On the road to rishikesh ( i think ) in 70/71 he rewrote the lyrics and placed on the Imagine album Yoko had told him he could write more personal lyrics, this is another apology to woman by man ! Very Lennon hits the heart !

Such a wonderful song. John didn't release it as a single. Interestingly, Roxy Music , with Brian Ferry on vocals did release it, and it was a big hit.

Very nice insightful reaction 👍👍👍Bear with you? Best camera angle? You could be in the middle of a garbage dump and the video would be gorgeous. Jealousy.....a interesting emotion......sometimes it really hurts....is painful....destructive.....sometimes seemingly justified.....I always remember " I am a jealous God " when I hear this word. Jealous guys are dangerous does he know that? 😂😂😂🤣🤣🤣 they always say i didn't mean to hurt you, i am sorry blah blah🤣🤣🤣😂😂. That's an awesome song though, he was trying to protect his territory but in the process loving his lover. Insecurity is so bad in most cases. You will not find the angle because you did not get permission from me to move😂😂🤣🤣. I understand my dear you will be fine with time, you will figure it out

There is interesting history behind this song. John originally wrote the melody in 1968 with lyrics titled Child of Nature when John was a member of the Beatles. The song never made it onto a Beatle album. You can find a version of the song with those lyrics on youtube. Personally, I think the original lyrics are kinda korny. John made a wise choice to ditch those lyrics some 3 years later and insert these lyrics onto the existing melody and change name to Jealous Guy for his solo album called Imagine.

Even though Paul was the defacto leader of the Beatles from Pepper onwards, the popular media and fans looked for John to take the lead to reunite the Beatles post the split. With Paul considered the pushy ambitious guy, Yoko the divisive influence, John was in the spotlight and he cracked. That famous long weekend,Mae Pang, partying.. He was living out real life Strawberry fields and short circuiting his loved ones.

I think john was on fire on the white album he had more songs on it than Paul and on pepper he wrote on 6 songs some with Paul on yellow sub marine Album his is on 4 tracks

As Ringo Starr has said, they probably would have made 2 albums if Paul wasn't in the band "because we were lazy buggers". "So i told Paul this, he knows the story. We made 3 times more music than we ever would... Because hes the workaholic.." Also Epsteins death in 67 shattered Lennon who felt that the Beatles were finsihed whereupon Paul took over (in Lennon's words.)
