    Mad respect to Cena for how much he's been putting over all the talent he's been working with during this short run of his, especially LA Knight.

    Yes because being popular since mid june 2023 because of a catchphrase is the same as working your way up with wrestling skills absolutely not ! Once knight loses to reins he’ll go back to Midcard where he belongs ! Notice how the reporters o asked cena all the questions and only ask knight a question after cena told them to !

    @stonecoldsteveowens3188 no Cody is not. He is just shoved in viewers' faces. Mainly to appease him and please him and his weirdo fan base, bc no Austin, Hogan, Rock, Bret, HHH fans are even checking the marquee for him. Probably bc if he is the champ, who can he get in the ring with aside from Seth, Finn, Kofi, or Miz( who btw he could have a helluva build up program with but the match or matches would be terrible, with exception to Miz almost winning due to lots of interference) that he looks like he could beat for real and their program wouldn't get stale from the get, not many come to mind. Like it or not, Roman is still the face, and Cody looked too small in the ring with him, which is probably why it was ir so far had been a one-off. Like Floyd was to boxing or Lebron is to the NBA, Roman currently is to wrestling, particularly WWE, as long as those names are around and no matter how many others win titles or get pops, people will watch way more when they are on just to see them lose or be disgruntled if they win bc the saga continues.

    It gets said every time Cena is on a camera basically, but what a great guy. He knows that this match, this tag team, all of this is about LA Knight not himself, so after he keeps getting bombarded with questions, he goes, "Come on guys, who has a question for LA Knight", and when Knight goes off course a bit because he doesn't have the same level of experience in these types of situations, Cena gives him a clean finish on the question. Love these two, and I wish Cena would stick around, these two would be amazing as a team going forward, even though this is probably their last partnership.

    @@deadlywhisper1277 I think it's also an implication (from Cena himself) that LA should keep that always-on-your-guard type of mentality that he has (defense wins championships meanning being always on your guard would put you on the top of the biz) since we all know pro-wrestling can be highly political backstage. I do get that it's a more different landscape now, just like what Cody and HHH had said in their respective interviews (about the whole landscape being in unison/team-oriented now) but still... Plus Cena has been through those stuff himself, so he knows a lot too. Anyway I may be thinking too hard about it since it's probably just a joke-ish kind of advice to LA at that particular moment to make him generally optimistic towards what's happening in his WWE career now.

I never said cena a bad worker, i said he isnt the goat in any aspect of wrestling, including work rate. Do you think cena a better worker than bret, shawn, angle, flair, eddie, steamboat, arn Anderson, jericho, i could go on and on here. Ur saying all the other aspects of wrestling dont mean jack compared to being a nice guy and loyal to Vince 😂. He defo beat the rock on the mic, but that not the same rock. Hurricane helms also beat the rock on the mic a few times doesnt mean hurricane better lol. Gotta look at the whole body of work kid. And even if u think he better than the rock on the mic, cena is defo not the best promo regardless, i used rock, flair and Austin as examples. Just nit picking one particular one and just talkin about one promo exchange rather than the whole body of work shows how bad u are at this. Yeah man. I really don't mind wrestlers being unreasonably dominant in their earlier days as long as they work hard later in their careers to put over other talents. It's called "giving back to the business". Some like LA Knight pays the bill up front, others like The Undertaker pay it in multiple installments, and then there is Cena. He paid a half up front and half at the end. Regardless they are squared up.

    You know, in a way, LA Knight's career trajectory models Steve Austin's back in the day. He was doing his thing in WCW hustling and working his way to be a star but never being able to reach the top either because he hadn't "figured it out" or management holding him down. After he was fired, he briefly showed a whole new side of his character in ECW before he was given the ringmaster gimmick in WWF. Once he was finally able to be Stone Cold, he had this feeling of chasing and wanting to be on top because he never felt he was given the opportunity and so he seized it. Knight, while he did hold top gold in TNA was never seen as THE guy even if he had the ability, and he just honed his character until, after NWA, he made it to WWE, and after his stint in NXT what did they do? They made him Max Dupree. Now with his gimmick back he also has that chip on his shoulder, always fighting for more. Long story short, I really think Knight has the potential to be THE guy by shear force of will at his pace right now.

    Cena has been a fan of Knight for a while now. Sort of feels like WWE is letting LA Knight shadow with Cena so he can learn the ropes, so he can better understand what carrying the company entails, because that's where I think they're going with Knight. I'm looking for LA Knight to beat Roman for the Universal / Undisputed Championship at WM40. This will begin his run at the top. It's been surreal for me, as I added Knight to my personal Mt. I am not a WWE anymore fan but I respect the hell outta John Cena. He really seems like a real and genuine dude. I am not sure exactly what it was but this segment of the press conference feels kinda weird. In my opinion part of the reason why is because wrestling media just isnt that good. I think wrestling media needs to step it up honestly and do a better job all around. Their were so many possible good questions they could have asked but they didnt ask any of them really. I dont understand why that one guy asked Cena about that old promo he did on the Rock when Cena addressed that already years ago. Also Cena is a lot older now and it was a wrestling story line too. It just felt like a really immature question and it seemed like he was tryin to catch Cena in a gotcha moment or something...idk. Even before that though there really werent any good questions asked that I wanted to know the answer to. Ontop of that they just had LA Knight sitting there basically lookin crazy when hes the one who is the full time wrestler that they are still trying to build. The vibe just seemed off from start to finish.

    It's actually a current topic since Rock recently said that Cena apologized again (this time in person) for that when he and the Rock met backstage.

    I thought the media was very disrespectful to LA Knight they focus more on John than La Knight who was the one getting the rub I mean I love John Cena and I'm not taking anything away from him but that media had little to almost no questions for LA I found that in poor taste for wrestling media

  • @bluejay22
    @bluejay228 ай бұрын

    Why did it seem like LA Knight was judging everybody he was looking at? I don’t think he always has that look on his face….or maybe he was just trying to focus on what people were saying? Or maybe he was trying to figure out why Cena was getting all the questions and nobody was asking him any questions until Cena said something about it. 🤷🏼‍♂️ I wanna see The Rock and LA Knight basically tag team promo on someone. Kinda like a passing of the promo torch.

    Prior to the UFC merger I think they did it as a type of competition to AEW because they saw how well it does for AEW. Now with the merger I think it's just because UFC does it so might be one of those things that Endeavor wants them to do
