Welcome Coach! We are so happy to have you! I know you have lots of decisions but one of the great relationship builders of parents and players of up and coming basketball athletes is Ronnie Brewer. Coach Ronnie Brewer is a class individual who was a great player and is / will be a great coach and is a great recruiter. We know you are a great recruiter. Ronnie spent time after playing coaching an AAU team that gave him a chance to get to know the parents and players that were coming up. Spend some time with him and you will be all over hiring him. Ask him to tell you his story about Koby when at the Utah Jazz. This defines his character as a player and as an individual. Ronnie Brewer will exceed your expectations. He also is a great Razorback and that would be helpful to have. Finally, thank you John Tyson. John Tyson, you could do some due diligence and learn quickly just how well Ronnie has developed himself - NBA and Post NBA. I have been introducing Ronnie to the influential people of AR that I know and every one of them have been super impressed.

Bro chill, we had no coach and no players we doing a 5 year deal he is 65 yo he would probably like to retire by 70 anyway if he gets a team together and wins the first 5 years like he did at Kentucky its a win for us to get the program for a new up and comer and maybe he can retire with dignity and respect instead of what uk fans are trying to do to him geez.

@@Michael-lv1qv well I mean people are saying facts it's not like people are making this stuff up. I mean he literally did all this stuff on the record where everyone can hear I mean come on. Just because people are calling out what someone actually did doesn't mean your making them into something there not it's literally exposing that person is what it's called. I stuck up for calipari for all of these years but he showed himself that covid year when he kick Fletcher off the team and embarrassed that player on live television. But of course Ashton haggans lost it what does he do try to throw him under the bus. Them players didn't respect him and trust me people know people in Lexington word was getting around that he was belittling these players making them think he made them NBA material and there nothing without him. If that's not a narcissist idk what is.

That's why he said UK not for everyone. Yall will say anything to put that man down. If you dont like the dude then why are you on an Arkansas page complaining. You got your coach in Pope. I know the fans are excited about their new coach (and they should be, it's an exciting time for them) but if you compare the energy from his induction at Arkansas vs. Kentucky, it's completely night and day. You can tell he's pumping himself up to "make this work" vs "Wow Arkansas! This is the chance of a lifetime". I get that you want to encourage your fan-base, but he said Arkansas is a blue-blood, and it's just not. It's a decent team, but it's not blue-blood. He just said this to get applauds. He's putting on a brave face, but he looks a like a guy who's going on his first date after going through difficult and unwanted divorce with the woman he dreamed his whole life of growing old with. In his speech at the arena, one of the first things he said was a reference to the Arkansas game where he was thrown out and then mentioned "WE still won the game". This was probably not the best thing to say to your new school. The awkwardness was palpable. His body language, his level 5-of-10 energy would be concerning if I were an invested Arkansas fan. I think he'll do a decent job and build up the team in 5 years in order to hand it off to a new coach. This seems like a short-term swan song.

As I mentioned, I think he's understands he's there to get them back on their feet then he'll ride off into the sunset.

@@zackclark2265 Cal's a great part of UK's history, but he's also a great lesson in terms of offering lifetime contracts to coaches and playing for NBA clout instead of the name on the front of the jersey. One of the narratives that's been a somewhat twisted over the last couple weeks in Cal's favors is that UK fans "ran him off". More accurately, it seems that after 2015 (and especially after a very mediocre, at best, 5-6 years), Cal was being held accountable by a state that genuinely love the team and didn't want it to see it go the way of other formerly-great-but-now-mediocre programs such as Indiana. The fan base loved the celebs at the games and recognizable players in the NBA, but also understood they should be the icing on the cake and not the main GOAL of KY basketball. I think he'll do fine at Arkansas, but I'm also thankful he won't have TOO MUCH time before he retires to drive another SEC program into the ground.
