Hopkins won.
Hopkins won the ‘hugging and holding’ part of the fight but nothing else!
Clinch, clinch, hold, hit, clinch hold hit. Rush in, throw right hand, clinch, grab, hold, hit. Repeat. Thank you for the cure to insomnia Bernard Hopkins.
Very close fight. Hopkins pulled all the tricks of the trade out mainly because he had to ! Hopkins style may be obnoxious but its effective and i cannot deny admiring what a truly great fighter he was and given his age really remarkable. For me the verdict hinged on the last round and i gave to Joe but i would not argue with those that give this to Hopkins either to be fair!
Calzaghe a class above clapped-out Hopkins.
Hopkins was allowed to hold the whole fight because he had nothing to trouble joe. The referee was a joke.
25 world title defenses has to be the most underrated fighter ever
Callzaghe went undefeated as a professional and beating guys like chris eubank sr bernard hopkins even roy jones jr what more can a guys record say than that one ? Damn thats a great boxing resumé if i say so myself not many can say that hes up there with a floyd mayweather in modem day boxing wow i always looked at callzaghe as a guy whos beatable yet he lost to no one thats good stuff i shoulda known when i seen him work the heavybag how heavy handed he was it goes to show in boxing if youre heavy handed amd active with your punches alert defensively you will win a fight he had a 70 percent ko record too thats great for a boxer to have that record not many can say they went toe to toe with the best in their time mayweather and callzaghe can say that they have its no wonder the southpaw mcgreghor had a shot callzaghe the real boxing southpaw would have been an incredible fight but no never can happen he is. 175'r floyd dont get that fat i dont think
Everytime i watch a hopkins fight, its always a dirty fight.
HBO commentators are much better. Replays and between round corner talk I like seeing all that.
Calzaghe's a clever fighter. Hopkins couldn't handle him in the end, just resorted to holding and trying to land big punches.
Best actor hopkins 😜
B-hop the only boxer I know that was successful at adding the rough housing of a real street fight to his style and its has been very effective. Like when he he duck his head or make you think he ducking his head completely and it be looking like he falling into you with that over hand right, and it kind of catch you off gaurd thats some slick ass shit you see in a street fight, its like how a nigga take off on a nigga after you've made up your mind if he come any closer, or he say one more thing
Quite possibly the worst referee in boxing, he allowed Hopkins to spoil and hold for the entire duration of the fight.
I wonder if any of the yanks rate Hagler? Hagler said that Joe deserved to be rated in the best top 6 pound 4 pound EVER. Cheers Marvin.
116-111 was the correct score-card, the fight wasn't as close as others were making it out to be.
is bernard leaning forward slightly and leading with a left hook? Thats an unusual tactic isnt it? Unusual in general and unusual for use against southpaws never even seen it b4 till this fight.
The ref as predicted was on Hopkins side letting him hold. He didn't let hatton do that did he when he was fighting mayweather
Great to have this fight without the crap commentry by HBO.
The people who claim Hopkins won are delusional. There are only two reasons somebody would make such an obviously ridiculous statement. One is that they are simply haters. The other is that they are fanboys of B-Hop.
