A lot of the anti woke types think if someone is canceled they must be cool, and so entertainers take this and run with it in such a desperate way where it comes off so cringe. Do you know who Dave Rubin is? Failed comedian/news guy. He wrote a book called "Don't burn this book" - trust me no one cares enough to do that, but he's desperate for attention/sales.

I think it is a brilliant joke. It makes people laugh but also highlights a fundamental social truth about the continuing prejudice against Gipsy people. As a consequence of this joke some intelligent people may look at themselves and reconsider their values. Incidentally I have seen estimates ranging from 500,000 to 1.5 million gipsies murdered by the Nazis (not just thousands). “The Holocaust” is now used to refer only to the Jewish people who were murdered, there doesn’t seem to be a word that recognises not just the gipsies but also the gay people, the black people, the disabled and the communists. I hope they are not forgotten.

Chat GPT debunked the holocaust bullshit story, this is how it went. How many jews died in Auschwitz? It is estimated that at least 1.1 million people died in Auschwitz, the majority of whom were jews. Were the murdered jews at Auschwitz cremated? Yes the bodies of those murdered in Auschwitz were cremated. How many crematorium ovens did Auschwitz have? Auschwitz had a total of four crematorium ovens. How long does a crematorium oven take to cremate one body? It typically takes 2-3 hours to cremate one body. Is it possible to cremate 1.1 million bodies, using only four ovens in four years? No. How how many years would it take? It would take more than seventy eight years to cremate 1.1 million bodies, using only four crematorium ovens.

I don't think this joke is that edgy. This joke, like many of Jimmy Carr's, is based on the subversion of expectations that comes from saying something that is obviously horrible and wrong. If he or his audience actually believed the killing of gypsies was a positive, the joke wouldn't work. Not knocking him as a comedian, but I feel like stand-ups like him and Anthony Jeselnik get too much credit for being "edgy" just because they make pretty tame jokes around dark subjects
