Canadian guy here... I spent about 2 years living in England, and their television is much better than Canada/USA television. They are not as uptight, worried about being too politically correct, and all the other bullshit that goes with it. It's just flat out better entertainment (talk shows, sitcoms, game shows, etc).

It's safe to say, Jimmy is one of those guys. He isn't here to give a damn about your feelings. He's here to push the boundaries of what's funny as sooooo many comics USED to do. He's a special kind of person that stands on business and consistently makes people uncomfortable because they're laughing at something that makes them uncomfortable. What he does isn't easy and in my opinion he should be protected at all costs. I love that you're trying so hard to not laugh even though you know it's f-ing funny. Great.

For the longest time, and even to this day, dark, edgy, and sarcastic humour are some of our main jokes. Kind of a holdover from the war (both of them) when everything was terrible and joking about it made things better

I saw him live. This was tame compared to what I saw. He torched the guy in the front row and I can’t repeat any of it here. lol.

Jimmy is a legend, he'll take you to places you didn't think you'd be able to go.......he also stays around when the shows finished to chat and mingle with the audience, he really appreciates that without the audience he'd be nothing. 👍🏻

I like Jimmy Carr. He's smart and has no filter... watch one of his heckles compilations.

They tried to go after Jimmy for a trans joke, but he basically shrugged and said something to the effect of, “Have you heard the rest of my material?” He did get salty when they tried to go after his friend Victoria Coren for defending him. She is an absolutely brilliant lady who also happens to be kind and funny. She basically said, “Jimmy is a lovely person. These are called jokes,” and they went after her. Carr pretty much said, “Nope, nope. Come after me, but leave my friends out of it.” In America it was a scenario that might have been career ending, but Carr just kind of rolled his eyes and moved on.

I think he's a great example of how "cancel culture" is overblown. If comedians are cancelled just for telling offensive jokes, how the fuck does Jimmy have a career? The closest he's ever got to being cancelled was for that tax shenanigans years back, not his jokes.
