I rebuilt my body using Jim Wendler’s 5/3/1 BBB program after my cancer treatment, it was a long process but the program did me wonders. I used an elite FTS SS Yoke bar for all my squat sets. Can’t thank both these pros enough for passing on their experience and wisdom. The program and the bar literally saved my training life.

Iron Solid - congrats on kicking cancer in the ass. And doing BBB with the SS Bar is both awesome AND miserable. Stay awesome.

Uncle Jim back to drop knowledge and life lessons upon us !
My favorite podcast guest of all time 💪🏻
5/3/1 changed my life. Thanks Jim!
Jim is by far my favorite guest. Always tune in when he's up. I'd say just make him the permanent co-host but I know that's impossible.
When’s Wendler going on Rogan?
The warm-up for your kids is GOLD - when I think about how much time was wasted getting minimal pull-up work in for the kids, I kick myself. Thank you Jim!!

SquatRX - this warm-up was/is one of the "secret sauces" of our training. Doing all the standard B.S. warm-up was great for wasting time and following the company line.
Two great guys!! Learn a lot about life when these men talk training. ✌️
GREAT content ,, always love to hear the passion that Jim brings. I've been doing 5-3-1 for 5 years THE BEST training program bar none ,, just turned 63 and still adding weight to the bar each month,,,
Always enjoy when Jim is around, never a bad episode.
I just stared back up with 531 post hernia surgery. It’s so easy to jump back into, adjust as needed, while still progressing. Thanks for the podcast.
I have an elite fts leather belt and absolutely love it highly recommend these guys stuff is serious. Had it for about a year now and has held up incredibly well. Seriously love the belt
Such great respect and chemistry between you two. I really like when Wendler is on.
Wendler and Tate Table Talk is best Table Talk.
Humans over hardware. One of the SOF Truths.
Always great to see Wendler
Always great when the two of you get together
Every high school coach should watch this
These guys enjoy each other so much, that's the best part.
Owe my life to Jim. Keep it up.
This was a great listen!
I love Jim
it’s gonna be a good podcast when it’s almost three hours

He’s mentioned it numerous times about writing a book for that so hopefully he does soon!
Wendler has quite the eloquent writing style... (The Dr. Jordan Peterson of powerlifting ) lol. Bought and read 5/3/1 last year and beyond 5/3/1 January 2022. More so than his programs, his principles really helped give me perspective on making progress. I'm primed up to hit some personal records mid January. A big milestone was benching over 300 on my 30th birthday.... This year I hope to hit 345 at 198-205 bw range.
Always some great information when Wendler is at the table! Thanks for the knowledge gifted to the world!
Time under tension.
Im going to run Bulding the Monolith, I can only do chinups and dips for sets of 5 only tho.. Can atleast half of the assistance be substituted with different exercises?
@jw6170

I’ll bet if you run it as designed you’ll be doing more than sets of 5 at the end

@@muhammadtyson8676 If you can only do sets of 5 on dips/chins, i would recommend just cutting the volume in half for the recommended amount - your set of 5 is going to be much harder for you than a set of 5 would be for most people running that program - most people should be doing 12-15 chin ups pretty easily and 15-20 dips. It's fine if you can't do that amount now but just recognize that your relative intensity on those exercises is higher. Unless you have access to an assisted pullup/dip machine, in which case no shame in using that (or using bands).

For the algorithm.
The only difference between an amateur and a professional is the mastery of the fundamentals
How does he get the respect of the kids? Well, he’s huge, is covered in tattoos and has a great beard. Done!

Y’all have known each other since I was 1 year old. That’s crazy and a solid relationship
I hope this interview teaches me how to do a bunch of juice, act hard, and then look back at my life as if I've actually achieved something because I pretended to be somebody
surprised Wendler isn't an NFL strength coach or D1.
