Good point good point but here’s a counter argument. You are often not outside the majority of the winter season more than any other season anyway so a lack of mosquitoes is due to the weather yes but you could also stay inside the way you do in winter on other season to have a similar effect.

I am an immigrant from Africa who does enjoy winter immensely. I sweat at a resting heart rate so I don't like heat. Summer is for the birds. Everytime I step out my front door in summer I immediately think, "what is this?! Nigeria?!!" It's summer all year round in Nigeria. In the mornings in December- January, it might be a bit cold early mornings but once that sun comes up, we're right back into it.

As someone who has spent their entire life on the gulf coast of Texas, I can tell You without question I would rather be cold than hot. Well I'm from Houston so I know exactly what you're talking about and I agree that the summers here are quite miserable. However, after living in Boston for 2 years, I wouldn't trade Texas weather for anything. Boston was a cool city but the snow and temperatures made my time there a living hell. The spring and summers were great but they only lasted 5 minutes and it was still kind of chilli, which was so depressing. And don't get me started on snow storms, black ice or having to dig your car out of snow to go anywhere. I couldn't wait to move back and I will never live in a cold, snowy climate again

In defense of winter, it's much easier to warm up when you're cold than it is to cool down when you're hot. Summer heats can be oppressive in some places, especially it's really humid, forcing people indoors anyways, but it's not fun indoors, just sticky. In winter, I have an excuse to stay inside, where it's comfortably warm, and enjoy all of the fun things to be had. If Jim Gaffigan can do hilarious, intelligently silly and clean comedy so can others -- with a little effort. Love him and wish there were more like him.
