like everything else, big stores have advantages and disadvantages and it is up to you to take advantage or be taken advantage. Even if you don't have a large family you can totally save money by buying bulk on things that last a long time, such as razor blades, batteries, bar soap, toilet paper, etc. Also, the savings on the gas they sell more than pays for the membership. lastly, a few times a year I host a large BBQ and it just makes sense to go to a bulk store. Price and convenience usually have an inverse relationship. Sure the grocery story closest to your house may be most convenient but it is also more costly. Costco may have some inconvenient things about it (such as storing razor blades or other shit) but if you do it right, you do save money.
