This is hands-down the most hysterical yet honest assessment of the landscaping business that I've ever heard. Take it from someone who has been there!

Same. I did it for two summers and I worked with the biggest degenerates I’d ever been around to this day. I’ve been paid in pain pills (when I was an opiate addict) I’ve broken people’s sprinkler heads off so bad and had to try and had to try and hide it 😂😂😂. Working in south Alabama in 100 degree heat with ex convicts and maniacs. Every man should have to be part of one of these crews at least once. It’ll make a legit man out of you. I’ve seen things…..

I'm laying in bed unable to sleep at 4am and just had a fucking fit of hysterical laughter listening to this. Holy shit the wig story.. I have a major soft spot for old school guys like Jim telling old school stories of generations past. The fucking 80s?! What a fucking time to be alive!! I need to find more cool older people to hang out with, this was some classic shit.

I’ve done landscaping it’s just as insane as he’s describing it. These days, with air pods and podcasting maybe it’s not as bad but I did it in the 90’s. Just an 18 year old on a crew with ex convicts, recent divorcee’s and maniacs in general. One guy had a massive collection of Polaroid porn he made every year at Mardi Gras.

I used to do landscaping too. It's pure shit. Awful pay, long hours and nobody respects you. There's no good age for it. I did have my own business doing it by myself and I liked it. Just did it to make money to travel the world. Never had more fun in all my life. You have to get out and live wherever you want and do what you have to do.

Jim worked for a landscape company and the raked leaves on large jobs?? I've never done landscaping as a job but I've always had yards with lots of leaves to clean up and I use an old Snapper riding mower that sucks up the leaves into the bag. It takes WAY less time and you are drinking a cold beverage while driving up and down you lawn. I've never heard of a landscaping company not willing to invest in a piece of equipment that would just suck up the leaves because it is WAY more cost effective than paying laborers to sit there with a rake all day.

@@Azautographsandcollectibles hahaha, I guess so. Maybe this is partly why Jims boss never had money. Because he was not willing to invest into his company so his profit margin was constantly getting eaten up with labor costs (two people raking leaves for hours at one house) rather than dropping a couple thousand on a machine that could suck up the leaves (or mulch them) on several houses a day and more than pay for itself in the long run.

Landscaping blows ass. I tried that shit and washed out after a few days. Couldn’t do that shit. The boss always tries his best to work you death and he’ll tell you to weedeat a spot by a lagoon that you and another guy just saw like 15 water moccasins at, and when the weed-eater breaks he gives you the hedge trimmer and tells you to use that instead lmao

well just as your boss had enough with you when you were doing that in the restaurant I'm done with you too... you just don't do that. If you don't know the difference between his act and your reality while he's eating then it confirms what I originally thought about you.
