I’m short yes, you’d have to be lying to say otherwise. Just look at the reaction he gets both in and outside of wrestling - MJF is a star, and he’s a star because he is acting like a pro wrestler. Key to city, national news, no one cares about the rest of the roster.

Jungle Boy should definitely be feuding with someone like Sammy over the TNT or International title, because he's still not ready yet. He can use a midcard title run to really improve on the mic and in the charisma department. You'd think that pairing him with a guy called Captain Charisma would've worked, but somehow it didn't. Darby and MJF are ready though, just run with that. But Darby can't win, simply because him against Mox or Kenny or Hangman or Danielson would visually look unbelievable until the guy puts some weight and muscle on.

No. Jim wants AEW to be successful only if they are run like he thinks a wrestling organization would be run. If AEW was run the way he wanted, they would have been out of business long ago. He's as out of touch as McMahon, he doesn't understand that the vast majority of fans do not like what he likes.

That would make me just as bad as he is, because he wants everything to appeal to him and he insults anyone that likes anything he doesn't. There are legitimate criticisms about AEW, but Cornette is not someone I would turn to for them based on his long history of showing that he has no clue what the fans of today want. Jim reminds me of a local comic book writer. Over the years, he submitted countless proposals to Marvel and DC wanting to write major stories featuring unused properties and making them the centerpiece of the company. He wanted to write them as they were written in the 50,s 60's and 70's. Every rejection he'd say "well they just don't want to make money." All of us at the comic shop, both employees and customers kept going "no, they like making money. If they thought the audience would buy what you're suggesting, they'd be all over it. But all indications say the audience won't. You're writing for the target audience of YOU."

The four pillars is one of the most stupid ideas I've ever seen Now that the company has grown and has more talent, is weird to see people like Wardlow, Hobbs or Ricky Starks who got over naturally, being trashed by Tony's booking, while Jungle Boy and Sammy Guevara are in the main event picture without even connecting with the people

Sammy definitely doesnt belong in the pillars. I get the concept but i think hangman page should definitely be a pillar rather than sammy. Darby connected with the audience but jeez jungle boy is a disappointment. He can wrestle but he should stay in the tag division

I do agree with Jim about Darby being the only one being booked to have a proper match with MJF but even with Darby he's not being booked to wrestle enough on TV for him to look viable. Tony will put him on Dynamite or Rampage for a week or two then we don't see him for a few weeks. When building up a PPV main event he should be there more than he is not. I like Sammy and one of my friends got to meet him and said Sammy is possibly one of the nicest celebs he's ever met. The issue with Sammy is when he turned heel he went back to being Jericho's job guy. Had he and Tay done their own thing as a heel duo instead of being in the JAS, I think he would've eventually turned face again or possibly a tweener but being a stooge in a group now going for the top prize makes no sense. The biggest issue IMO is Tony's booking, he needs some people working with him to make AEW a better product

90% of the weeks MJF hasn't been the closing act of Dynamite even though he is champion, hard to take him seriously despite his phenomenal talent if the company keepts undercutting him and making him feud with 3 guys that can't hold their own on the mic isn't helping either

It's like when the company started, TK wrote out the 4 Pillars storyline to play out now. And he's still going with it even though half of them aren't ready. Jungle Boy still hasn't won a single title yet, he should be competing for and winning the TNT or International title and getting his feet under him with it. That worked for Sammy and Darby. Jungle Boy still isn't ready yet, he still needs a manager. Just when it looked like Christian was influencing him, they broke that off and he still wasn't ready. But this is a kid that hated JR calling him by his real name and didn't understand why the vets in the company were wanting him to stop going by Jungle Boy. So he probably thinks that he doesn't need a manager.

Ask him about the Rush vs Jungle Boy match. That's golden content.

I think, at this point, book the main event so that MJF pins Jungle Boy and, at the same time Darby pins Guevara. There's initially some confusion as both men think they've won. A draw is the official decision and MJF retains the title. MJF tries to cheap shot Darby after the fact, but Darby is ready and, in his frustration, just wails on MJF. Coffin Drop through a table in the outside to send people home happy and there's your singles feud going forward.

My four pillars are MJF, Darby, Starks, and Wardlow. Those are the ones they should building around. Give Wardlow another program with MJF to get his booking back on track. Wardlow can lose, and it'll still keep him elevated as a contender for the future.

Starks would fit based on improvement, but he wasn't there at the start. Tony signed him when he left the NWA a year after AEW formed to be a part of the whole Team Taz shitshow.

Personally would of preferred Darby VS MJF in the way Jim describes here. I have never seen the appeal in Jungle Boy. I just don't get it.

MJF needs to reunite with Wardlow. They're pure gold together and Wardlow's momentum is virtually at a stand still. Remember how over the powerbomb symphony was?... That horse has left the barn and been abducted by aliens.

MJF after he took that time away from tv is like Daniel Bryan and The YES Chants when he started wrestling again after being General Manager. People were Yesing but it wasn't nearly the same as it was even a week earlier. That is what MJF is going through now.

I wanted aew to succeed in the beginning as well. Then I tried to watch it.😂

Only Darby and MJF are worth a damn out of the Pillars. Sammy is OK, but he's a fucking douche, and Jungle Boy has as much personality as a turnbuckle pad. His feud with Christian Cage exposed him BADLY. Fuck, I'd rather see QT Marshall than Jungle Boy at this point, which is sad.

The 4 pillars match feels like a match for the TNT title instead of a world title.

Weirdly enough, as bad booking people keep saying AEW is, it's been a steady ratings, it's near 1M due to that's how much wrestling fans are nowadays and others are probably watching online and not included in the tv ratings But AEW, as bad booking everyone say it is, people in the arena are blowing the roof off on every booking decision or spot they do, the idea is that if it is bad as reviewers say it is, then it highlights AEW whenever something good actually happens like the Punk vs MJF angle

Definitely a joke. Booker of the year should have been the one who -gave Roman two world title belts when Roman was slowing down his work schedule -had Fin Balor lose to Roman via falling off a turnbuckle as THE DEMON(never try to get a rematch over a year later) -had Roman beat three top babyfaces in Sami Zayn, Cody, and Drew with blatant interference without ever getting rematches months later -Introduced a third WHC at the same time as a draft and then put both RAW and SD people in the tournament for the new title, therefore breaking the rules of the brand split the day it got started. And invalidating the purpose of the new title -Gave Roman and Solo a tag title shot unearned instead of defending the two titles WWE said Roman was holding hostage. At NIGHT OF CHAMPIONS. Roman gets to both not defend his titles and get a shot at a new title with a partner he’s won like a match w/ in their entire career Tony is just as good a booker as any other major promotion in America. It’s bad all around. Maybe you can make a better case for NJPW’s booker but it’s not like TK has tough competition in america

He's right. MJF is on an island. There's nobody built up enough for him to even bother with at this point. They've done a miserable job elevating talent around him, and he elevated himself. He should honestly still be probably feuding with Bryan Danielson, since he's not doing shit either. Or Ricky. Or Punk. Or... Christian? Maybe? I'm not sure who else could even hang with MJF at this point.

I think They're saving Danielson and Starks at a later date because MJF needs to keep the title to build him further, and meeting them again means it would almost certainly have to have MJF losing to maintain competitive balance.

My thoughts are MJF is a main eventer, Darby Allin i think he's just one step away from main event status he just needs that standout feud or match that will really push him up there, Sammy is a natural heel he just has an arrogant cocky grin that makes you want to watch someone punch his teeth out that's a good thing but he's just not quite there psychologically, Jungle Boy hasn't got alot going for him he can't talk and wrestles like everyone else so thats not a standout either. I get the feeling that if AEW was better booked if they didn't have a dozen factions all over the place, constant brawls and nearly everyone wrestles the same some of these wrestlers might standout from the crowd.

Corny looks great and sounds great these days!

Wrestling used to draw millions of TV viewers. Now AEW draws 800,000 at most and WWE not much better. I think Jim knows what he’s talking about. When he worked for JCP and WCW, they got 4 or 5 million on a Saturday afternoon at minimum. Clearly the people involved today don’t know their ass from a hole in the ground or in the case of WWE they make money elsewhere.

Jim is somewhat right in a lot of what he said, but Khan is going to have to remove the banner of home of professional wrestling because he hired a WWE dropout and made him champion who does not defend the title. He only shows up once in a while for cheap heat. That isn't a champion. I remember Flair coming out and defending the title in TBS more times than anyone, or Hogan coning out to save, attack, or team in a match against more people than his so called champion who thinks he is better than anyone and not wrestle for it. We already have one organization that has a paper champ, and now we have 2!
