Soo.. No one knows whether that promo was a shoot or not. & At this point, We are in Montreal Screwjob territory. As in, there's a good chance we will never find out what really happened that night. Even if MJF were to show up on TV tonight. It wouldn't mean it was a work the whole time. Part of the problem is Jim Cornette bases all of his information off assumptions because clearly he's not paying attention to the details... 1. It was Danielson's idea to start the Blackpool Combat Club, not Tony Khan's. 2. It was also Danielson's idea to include Moxley and Regal. 3. It was Tony Khan's idea to include Wheeler Yuta in the BCC. 4. Danielson is injured with a concussion, that's why he's off TV right now. Not because Tony doesn't know how to book him. 5. MJF is off on a planned break because he has some work in Hollywood he's currently working on. When that's done, he'll be back.

AEW to me seems like it's going for something. Something explosive. It's purposely trying to be very mediocre/average right now, so it can breathe for the next gear. I'm not sure what that next gear is. MJF and Punk saga? Is it for Hook vs Tony? Wrestling needs a narrative so badly. It was never at it's peak when it was just two guys having rivalries and wrestling for big titles. It always had a narrative, meta or fiction. Will WWE beat WCW? Will Stone Cold overcome Vince McMahon? Will The Streak be Over? Will John Cena overcome The Authority? Will Roman and Ambrose overcome The Authority? Will Brock Lesnar be dethroned? And today, Will Roman Reigns be dethroned? That's the main narrative, and main narratives are supposed to be long term. When you are the main narrative of a WWE program, that's when you have made it. That's when you are "The Guy". What main narrative do AEW have? Things are just happening. Pac wins a title. Some women win some titles. Someone wins a title every month. Wrestlers go absence. Wrestlers return. Wrestlers have good wrestling matches. Wrestlers have rivalries. Cool. What is the fucking narrative?
@TOP0PERCENT
Жыл бұрын
They did have a narrative with Kenny and The Elite a few months back, but it was a failure. The TNA invasion? Failure. The Forbidden Door narrative, is also a failure when it comes to creating heavy interest. It keeps their fanbase, maybe, but there's no money to be made with such narrative. MJF have the potential to be the main narrative. But how, what is his challenge? Or is he the challenge? Perhaps what's frustrating now is that nothing is developing. Tony is not developing his character or creating any buzz while MJF is gone. There's no all time baby-face that we can't wait to see MJF face. Hook is not ready, it seems so. What is the puzzle for MJF to fit in when he comes back?

Moxley can be gold but Tony has either overused him or given him that much of a free hand that everything he does now has either already be seen before or doesn't feel special anymore.
I always maintain that they miss the opportunity to pay off the MJF thing at forbidden door. It's no secret how much MJF hates Japan what better way to illustrate that and to try to get "fired" then by going in and interrupting the high profile championship match. Visual of him being forcefully dragged out by constant security as he curses at Tony Khan would have been something that would have replayed for weeks.
Facts
Wrestling is not what it used to be, it's not about individual talent anymore. People are either going to watch or they're not, no one wrestler can change that. Or at least those that could have already joined AEW, like Sting, Punk,...uh...they signed so many guys I've actually forgot them all lol which only furthers my point, no one guy can make a difference, AEW have the entire world wrestling for them it seems
It's already too late, MJF momentum is long gone since AEW completely erased him from their programming and he himself stopped posting on social media. What AEW should have done was have him win the Interim title with an open battle royal to everybody under contract, and then have him disappear while holding the title hostage and maybe even defending it on Indy shows or have him courtside at WWE television. Instead they made him irrelevant since Dynamite is going on business as usual and he is not a looming presence for these shows. The only way to recover this situation is to have him jeopardize the unification match between Moxley and Punk when it happens and insert him into the storyline to then give him a lengthy title run and play into the 2024 contract situation. But i don't trust Tony Khan at all to do what's right

He miserably failed in the nfl and bpl. W/ NFL jaguars were a good franchise they ran it to the ground. IN BPL they wre regulated. Also, when he was a data manager at a bioinofmratics company, he had poor reviews by employee. They stated 'clueless' , ' micromanager' 'poor communicator'.

I'm not gonna go to his soccer team cause I don't follow it. Jacksonville Jaguars have a good thing goong in a while. They doesn't meddle in day to say operation and hire people to do it, but they hired the wrong people. The team have the worst records in the last 2 years.

Can someone tell Jim that he is actually conservative and just doesn’t know it?
Yea,but it seems no matter what we as AEW viewers want never pans out.You can not butt heads with corporate. MJF is about big money in his pocket,and what he said is true,about WWE wrestlers and so on.I'll tell you though Tony Khan shut MJF down didn't he.Corporate rules!
Ya lost me when you dissed that musical number they did, ya damn well know it was Sinatra and during lockdown and it got over when there were NO crowds.
I don’t agree with everything Jim says but.. he’s right, they don’t capitalize on their hot streaks, they just let it burn out. Like when Punk won the belt from Cena WWE couldn’t wait like a week even basically before he came back, with this they’ve waited so long it’s really starting to cool off, if they had MJF going other places and doing some shit to keep it hot then yeah this not being on AEW would make sense but this makes no sense to me. Unless he comes back and is instantly involved in a massive story? Otherwise I think they’re really dropping the ball
How people who worked in other places be homegrown? I love how from the start MJF was a work or nobody knows,but Sasha And Naomi are proud fighters fighting for their freedom from the tyrannical WWE?

MJF wanted the TNT title. Wordlow now has that belt. Im hoping that MJF will come back and attack Wordlow amd set up MJF to take the belt from Warlow.
TK listen to Jim Cornette
Imagine it being two mizes on wwe if they signed mjf Lol
I think MJF hasn’t come back yet because AEW doesn’t know how to book him now. They can’t book him as a heel after that promo but they have no way to turn him face without a significant change of his character.
@apostolostvable

They don't know how to book anything
Pac is getting paid $1 million???
I am amazed that people still think this is an angle. I think Tony Khan tried to turn it into an angle, but MJF went too far in his promo, the crowd was booing Tony Khan by the end (which obviously wasn’t the expected reaction), and the Warner execs in the audience were appalled by the language used. If this were still an angle, MJF would have at least been mentioned on TV by now. It started out as a shoot, TK attempted to cash in and turn it into an angle, but it has blown up in his face and I don’t think he knows what to do with MJF now.
@ryancorrigan4149

You got it backwards - It started as a shoot when MJF felt he deserved more money. They worked something out, and it's been a work ever since. And you just proved it's an effective work.

If this is a work, then it’s the most boring, self-defeating work I’ve ever seen. What’s the payoff? There is nowhere else for this to go if it were all a work. Unless Tony Khan intends to put himself on TV as a heel owner??? Anyway, time will tell whether I am right or whether you are right...
He speaks the truth. AEW is wasting a huge talent rn
I think 6 weeks is too long...his buzz is about over..still get a big pop but the momentum is about gone.
Jim Cornette was bound to be a huge fan of MJF. The kid lives his gimmick and hasnt had to go to WWE to make a huge splash in the Pro Wrestling buisness. Obviously he will eventually move there. He has to if he really wants to be considered as one of the greats.
Pinnacle reuniting with all the belts. Relax let all come together. All the top guys got injured back to back. At this point no need to rush it because you enjoy mjf burying TK.
Bottom line he mjf must win the title
Had to bring poltics into it 😒
I think they're playing the long game with MJF and I agree with that tactic. They could ride that rocket ship right to the top but there's a significant chance that it could result in another Adam Page situation where the top of the card has the weakest interest which is something AEW absolutely cannot afford to repeat at this time.
@SuckmeoffthenTarzan

Um.. they "played the long game" with Page what are you talking about lol they placed Page with the job squad and made him a gimmicky "drunk" straight outta 1980s WWF. if they wait too long with MJF, or screw up his return he's toast for life.

Really? It keeps Twitter guessing? I spend very little time on Twitter, but a lot of that time goes to wrestling-related stuff. I don't see anybody talking about MJF any more than random things from thirty years ago being discussed. I have no idea what goes on over at the other social media platforms, I'm not on any of them. But from what I can tell MJF is not a hot topic on Twitter right now. Most people are speculating which divas VinnieMac stuck his little Mr. McMahon into for another one-to-seven million bucks.

They failed to capitalize on everything. Pillman Jr. had buzz after the Dark Side of the Ring episode and what did they do? Kept putting him in underneath tag team matches. Jim of all people should understand what they're doing and why. He acts as if people are going to forget MJF if they wait much longer. Well, most people don't have the memory of a goldfish, so I think it will be fine. Keeping him off TV for several months makes it all look very legit, and it means that his return will have a *much* greater impact then it would otherwise. "OMG, that's MJF! He was fired by Tony Kahn (insert number of months) ago! What the hell is he doing here!?" Meanwhile the crowd is going absolutely insane and nobody can even hear themselves speak. Doing it Jim's way, that would not happen. I know everyone wants and expects instant gratification these days, but if we all just be patient and wait we'll get something far better (assuming AEW doesn't screw it up somehow.)
