    Soo.. No one knows whether that promo was a shoot or not. & At this point, We are in Montreal Screwjob territory. As in, there's a good chance we will never find out what really happened that night. Even if MJF were to show up on TV tonight. It wouldn't mean it was a work the whole time. MJF & Tony could have easily came to an agreement over this past month+. & To see some of y'all still acting like you know sh!t, is very pitiful.

    Part of the problem is Jim Cornette bases all of his information off assumptions because clearly he's not paying attention to the details... 1. It was Danielson's idea to start the Blackpool Combat Club, not Tony Khan's. 2. It was also Danielson's idea to include Moxley and Regal. 3. It was Tony Khan's idea to include Wheeler Yuta in the BCC. 4. Danielson is injured with a concussion, that's why he's off TV right now. Not because Tony doesn't know how to book him. 5. MJF is off on a planned break because he has some work in Hollywood he's currently working on. When that's done, he'll be back.

    AEW to me seems like it's going for something. Something explosive. It's purposely trying to be very mediocre/average right now, so it can breathe for the next gear. I'm not sure what that next gear is. MJF and Punk saga? Is it for Hook vs Tony? Wrestling needs a narrative so badly. It was never at it's peak when it was just two guys having rivalries and wrestling for big titles. It always had a narrative, meta or fiction. Will WWE beat WCW? Will Stone Cold overcome Vince McMahon? Will The Streak be Over? Will John Cena overcome The Authority? Will Roman and Ambrose overcome The Authority? Will Brock Lesnar be dethroned? And today, Will Roman Reigns be dethroned? That's the main narrative, and main narratives are supposed to be long term. When you are the main narrative of a WWE program, that's when you have made it. That's when you are "The Guy". What main narrative do AEW have? Things are just happening. Pac wins a title. Some women win some titles. Someone wins a title every month. Wrestlers go absence. Wrestlers return. Wrestlers have good wrestling matches. Wrestlers have rivalries. Cool. What is the fucking narrative?

  • @TOP0PERCENT

    @TOP0PERCENT

    Жыл бұрын

    They did have a narrative with Kenny and The Elite a few months back, but it was a failure. The TNA invasion? Failure. The Forbidden Door narrative, is also a failure when it comes to creating heavy interest. It keeps their fanbase, maybe, but there's no money to be made with such narrative. MJF have the potential to be the main narrative. But how, what is his challenge? Or is he the challenge? Perhaps what's frustrating now is that nothing is developing. Tony is not developing his character or creating any buzz while MJF is gone. There's no all time baby-face that we can't wait to see MJF face. Hook is not ready, it seems so. What is the puzzle for MJF to fit in when he comes back?

    It's already too late, MJF momentum is long gone since AEW completely erased him from their programming and he himself stopped posting on social media. What AEW should have done was have him win the Interim title with an open battle royal to everybody under contract, and then have him disappear while holding the title hostage and maybe even defending it on Indy shows or have him courtside at WWE television. Instead they made him irrelevant since Dynamite is going on business as usual and he is not a looming presence for these shows. The only way to recover this situation is to have him jeopardize the unification match between Moxley and Punk when it happens and insert him into the storyline to then give him a lengthy title run and play into the 2024 contract situation. But i don't trust Tony Khan at all to do what's right

But regarding wrestling, let’s be clear… the smartest thing he ever tried to do, no matter whether it was a success (Punk, Danielson) or a failure (just too many to list), was trying to get Corny to be a part of AEW. Unfortunately for that promotion and it’s future, he failed. Still, that doesn’t mean he can’t learn from his criticisms. And he really should if he cares about AEW’s future.

    They failed to capitalize on everything. Pillman Jr. had buzz after the Dark Side of the Ring episode and what did they do? Kept putting him in underneath tag team matches. MJF put Wardlow over and made him a big star and what do they do? Put him against Mark Sterling and 20 security guards and Dan Lambert. Ruby Soho came into the company hot and what happened? Job her out to Britt Baker and forget about her. They can't get out of their own way.

    Other examples are the tag match that Hangman lost to Kenny when they could have just made him beat Kenny and then do an injury angle, but they missed out on that chance and a year later, is he even that over? Even after a world title run, it doesn't seem like it to me

    MJF is actually wildly overrated, Christian just stepped right into the asshole heel role no problem and is just as good as MJF at it.

    Jim of all people should understand what they're doing and why. He acts as if people are going to forget MJF if they wait much longer. Well, most people don't have the memory of a goldfish, so I think it will be fine. Keeping him off TV for several months makes it all look very legit, and it means that his return will have a *much* greater impact then it would otherwise. "OMG, that's MJF! He was fired by Tony Kahn (insert number of months) ago! What the hell is he doing here!?" Meanwhile the crowd is going absolutely insane and nobody can even hear themselves speak. Doing it Jim's way, that would not happen. I know everyone wants and expects instant gratification these days, but if we all just be patient and wait we'll get something far better (assuming AEW doesn't screw it up somehow.)
