The Internet had a meltdown when he accidentally said "WWE Dynamite" I thought It was a funny botch and moved on but some people were trying to #FireJR and sending him hateful tweets and not long after that Punk did commentary and called Bryan Danielson Daniel Bryan and said to JR "See It's not Just you" I still call theory "Austin theory" and for some reason I call the street profits "The mean street profits"

@@KAR5AVATARGT I used to, but I stopped when all he was doing was recapping that week’s episode of dynamite and shitting all over it. Even if he was praising it to the high heavens, I dont want to listen to someone give a blow by blow recap of a show I already watched. After the fourth week of him bitching about excaliburs mask, I unsubscribed. Jim was at one point one of the best minds in wrestling. Unfortunately by 2015, wrestling had long since passed him by.

JR one of the best play by play guys ever. Best ever in WWF/WWE and now AEW. Seen him from the 80s and up. What Vince did to him at after his health issues are criminal.

If I were a wrestler in AEW I would be hounding JR for his opinion and grasping on to his knowledge and experience as he has so much advice to give Completely forgot about twinkle toes being butthurt about that tweet, really is a joke that someone who has a valid opinion can cause such a stir

I don't care he says things wrong now and again, JR has been doing this for decades and even in his older years he can still make big moments feel even bigger. And yeah I love the extreme AEW moments but those guys should be known for more than just being risky.

For me, JR isn't as good on the play-by-play as he used to be back in his WWE years. Maybe it is age, maybe it is a vastly different roster, maybe he isn't just into the product or the wreslting business like he used to be. You just know there is something missing about him these days. I feel bad saying that as in his heyday, his calls and reactions are the stuff of legend and I want to remember that era of JR.

JR and CORNETTE HAVE BEEN MONEY FOR DECADES 🥇🏆

JR had a great play by play career. He just cannot do it at the same level anymore. He should transition to a backstage role and coach up the new crop of announcers and talent. It is the equivalent of watching Ric Flair still trying to wrestle. It needs to stop so we can remember how good he was.

JR is definitely the GOAT but I do not understand why is not retired. He should be enjoying life instead of dealing with assholes on the internet.

He doesn’t hate AEW. He hates equally. But also gives credit where it’s due. And he has praised them in the past. Multiple times. MJF, Danielson and Punk are his favourites. He also doesn’t mind Darby Allin or Wardlow, even if he disagrees with the booking at times.

The irony of Cornette calling people "whiny little cry babies", when all he does is whine and cry about Modern Wrestling, Vince Russo and Kevin Dunn, is not lost on me.

Telling the truth isn’t whining. That’s the point of what he’s saying and what you don’t get. Vince Russo and Kevin Dunn fucking suck and most people agree. Modern wrestling is also trash, which by most accounts is backed up by viewership and mainstream activity. Just because you don’t like it or disagree doesn’t make it whining. So yeah, it’s pretty lost on you.

He is literally doing the same thing he is bitching about (And, by proxy, making me do it about him... At least I can acknowledge it). Regardless of if he is right or wrong in your eyes (and I'm not particularly convinced that he is right), it doesn't change the fact that what I just said (and what I'm about to say) is true. All he does is shit on the business, that he claims to love, because it has changed. The reality of the situation is that I'm sure that he pissed off plenty of people, due to the change in style, during his era as well. This includes older wrestlers telling Bobby that he needed to slow down and then getting annoyed when he didn't (which is supported by the fact that, Jim himself, has talked about it on his podcast). Does that mean that the old timers were right? If you agree that Jim is right then they must be as well, correct? We have always got to take the word of the elder statesmen. Furthermore... Several people, who are friendly with Jim, have talked about how they like Vince Russo (including Dutch Mantel). So we are supposed to hate Vince Russo on one, clearly bitter, man's word? Keep in mind this is a man who has publicly threatened and harassed Vince Russo to the point that he had to get a restraining order against him. When the papers were served, his first reaction was to mock it and act like Russo was the one who was being unreasonable... despite the fact that Jim was viciously insulting and threatening him, in public forums, constantly. A court of law doesn't just grant orders of protection without supporting evidence. Imagine if somebody was doing the same to you or one of your loved ones... how would you feel about it and what would you do? Yeah, Vince Russo had to be filtered... But every creative person has to be at some point to avoid situations like what happened in WCW. Cornette's behavior is completely unacceptable, unfitting of the "crime" and more reminiscent of a 5-year-old throwing a temper tantrum, because they didn't get their way, than that of a 60 year old man. As for his take on viewership... It's clearly skewed. The ratings mean nothing because television viewership is down across the board. There are so many ways to consume any entertainment property, at any time, nowadays that we will never truly know the exact number of people that are watching. Maybe it is down... But there are no ACTUAL viewership data to support that. TL;DR: The man is a hypocrite with no actual facts supporting his data. He verbally threatened, often to a stalkerish level, Vince Russo (a man liked by several of his own friends) to the point the man had to get a restraining order... which he then mocked like Vince was the unreasonable one. His takes reek of "back in my day we were so much better" despite laughing off people of the previous generation doing the same to him. Listening to the man often feels like when your grandpa talks about how Babe Ruth was the greatest baseball player of all time, despite having no real competition/being of an era where half of the potential competition couldn't compete because of the way they looked, and clearly being surpassed since his time period.

Jim Ross doesnt deserve ANY of the hate he gets. If Cesaro became a star and famous for wrestling under the name Cesaro people with the correct amout of chromosomes will CALL him Cesaro. Same with Daniel Bryan. They wont be anything else to ME either until the day they've spent 10 years in AEW. And for him to outright forget the names of their undercard shouldn't be a surprise either; they are all no talent , no name, deathmatch mudshow, hotdog and a soda GARBAGE. Even most of their main event "talent" falls under that category

Feel kinda bad for Corny, he's sucked up and believes so much fear-mongering set forth by the mainstream media in the past two years and is too afraid to even take a step out of his house never mind coming on 'inside the ropes' for a chat again. Legitimately a prison mindset.

None of you know what you’re talking about. He’s opinionated about wrestling because he cares. He wants it to be better. He also does give credit where it’s due. And he’s also a liberal because he cares. As for the whole not wanting to leave the house thing, well he’s comfortable living where he is. It’s not out of fear but more out of a retirement mindset. Which is entirely fair enough. And at this point, how anyone can still be a Republican is beyond me. The way they’ve behaved over trump is disgraceful. Defending him is treason at this point. Not to mention unpatriotic. What do you think the domestic part of foreign and domestic is about? We saw what that was about on Jan 6th 2021. And trump encouraged it and did nothing to stop it. Just saying.

I don’t know what I expected. I need to learn to stop clicking on Cornette videos. The dude is bitter that the wrestling world evolved without him, and so he constantly shits on everything. And guess what? Jim Ross is a legendary announcer, but he sucks in AEW. Every match it’s the same shit. “Sammy, Sammy, Sammy!” “Ricky Stocks!” “Oh, Oh, Oh, O’Reilly!” Like I said, he’s a legend. And I’d rather remember him as a legend than as the guy who adds absolutely nothing to the commentary team in AEW.

He's past it. He really should retire. Not just names but other things as well. He was great back in the day but he is getting worse. Don't care if he knew them by different names. If you keep getting it wrong, then you need to go.

I think he thought he would got out on a high note, not the goofy second rate indy show.
