Jetstar 787-8 DREAMLINER Takeoff at Melbourne Airport
Jetstar Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner (VH-VKK) departs Melbourne Airport off RWY 34 during a dark morning.
Close-ups are something that you cannot take for granted and here at Melbourne Airport we are lucky enough to have multiple viewing areas where you are able to get stunning close-ups of departures and takeoffs! Arguably the best one being along Operations Road near the wind sock! This spot is amazing for taking pictures and videos of aircraft departing off RWY 34 and mostly good for pictures of aircraft landing on 34!
With Melbourne heading into spring, tempretures are still hovering around the 10 to 15-degree mark for most days. On top of these chilly conditions (for Aussies), we have been blanketed with cloud cover and heavy rain for the past week or two making spotting rather tricky! I hope you can understand if there is a lack of spotting videos. Despite this when I find the time I will try make another Aviation Battle Dome episode, How to Build your own Model Airport episode and a Model Unboxing soon! So stay tuned!

Wish they had Rolls Royce engines on the JQ fleet. Another excellent close up video with the 787

The Stikboss I believe this specific area is the Planespotters Lookout (it's called something along those lines) near Perimeter Road (not too sure again) which is on the east side of the airport.

I think I mentioned it in my description but this is taken along Operations road which is the road that runs parallel to Runway 34/16 :)
