I don't know. For me "Supercop" with Jackie Chan is the one that felt the most real for fight scene with trainer, but for one man taking on a whole group the best has got to be "Kiss of the Dragon" with Jet Li.

@@Chevalier_knight what is interesting is they usually take on the older masters. Past their fighting prime. It does not mean these guys are fighters. There is a difference in martial arts in fighter and practitioner. With boxing, mma etc, they all are fighters. In kung fu, karate, aikido, tae kwon do... they are not all fighters. I would suggest better matches between boxer you mentioned and tournament winners. Would be a better comparison.

I mean...brutality is actually a pretty successful way to win a battle. You could go easy and only hit them until they decide to stop fighting, but it's much more effective to hit them hard enough that they actually can't fight anymore. In fact, given the situation of 1 being attacked by a large group, all out brutality to remove people from the fight as quickly as possible is literally the only correct strategy that could be used.

I love how they named “ Funakoshi Sensei” the founder of Shotokan. And how he told his students were wrong. I love that because as a sensei we always tell our students never fight. Unless it’s necessary. And we know beyond a doubt there are many dangerous martial artist and great fighters there.

Such realism! The fluidity of their moves was pure artistry! It was as though a true master was manipulating their every move! For a moment I had forgotten I was watching a movie! Yeah this is cool, what gets me is the guy comes in after fight and says you're lucky you weren't seriously hurt, all I saw was arms snapping, shoulders buckling and various other 6 month to a year rehabs, when I hear a bone break like a sheared baseball bat, the first thing I think is hey cripple me too buddy

Was always the thing about these old karate movies action flicks, the guys running in one and two at a time, getting flipped, something broken or dislocated, then the next ran in for the same treatment. Even as a kid you were like, why dont they all run in at once, or better yet, just say 'nahhh' and go for a walk.

Classic 'genre' moment.
Some remakes are shocking but Jet Li and co do a fine job and make this a true homage to Bruce Lee's original. Love this film.

Fist of Legend is like a Generic version of Fist of Fury. But a good one. It's one of my favorite martial arts movies.

I don't know. For me "Supercop" with Jackie Chan is the one that felt the most real for fight scene with trainer, but for one man taking on a whole group the best has got to be "Kiss of the Dragon" with Jet Li.

@@ReligionOfSacrifice KOTD is my favorite Jet Li film. Limited wire work, amazing scenes and a fast pace. Supercop was also great. Also a fan of Jeeja Yanin's films, though she doesn't have enough mass to make her strikes 100% believable. Love her style though.

The most remarkable thing about this video is how she managed to change kimonos on the fly while following him from school to dock. She’s the quickest one here.
You would think after seeing the first two guys running right at him throwing a straight punch, getting their shoulders dislocated and being flipped like pancakes, the rest of the homies would have figured out that this strategy wasn’t going to work.

A hero is only as strong as the foes he defeated. Sorry but I was never pathetic enough to imagine beating up guys who were that unthreatening and lame. The15y/o me could take 3 or 4 of these guys easily. I at least imagined a challenge during my power fantasy shadow boxing sessions.
I will never forget my first Jet Li movie at the cinema Romeo must die it was the best movie I have ever seen at the cinema!
We had the Refrigerator, the Terminator, now comes the most diabolical yet, the Dislocator!
Fist of Legend is one of Jet Li's best movies and an excellent homage to Bruce.

@@Chevalier_knight what is interesting is they usually take on the older masters. Past their fighting prime. It does not mean these guys are fighters. There is a difference in martial arts in fighter and practitioner. With boxing, mma etc, they all are fighters. In kung fu, karate, aikido, tae kwon do... they are not all fighters. I would suggest better matches between boxer you mentioned and tournament winners. Would be a better comparison.

I find it so funny that he was just dislocating all of these guys limbs, even hyper-extending their knees to the point of serious injury, and they just picked up with normal conversation right after.

IMO Jet Li is the greatest choreograph martial art actor. No one is as fluid as him and he really sells those attacks.

@@palmettostateoutdoors86 I love Donnie Yen, but compared to JL he has a more brawler style IMO. JL as a top competitive wushu guy is clean and precise as it gets. It may not be how it'd be in reality, but it looks smooth and effortless.
I mean...brutality is actually a pretty successful way to win a battle. You could go easy and only hit them until they decide to stop fighting, but it's much more effective to hit them hard enough that they actually can't fight anymore. In fact, given the situation of 1 being attacked by a large group, all out brutality to remove people from the fight as quickly as possible is literally the only correct strategy that could be used.
An outstanding scene from one of the great movies of all time of any genre. Thank you for sharing it here.

I agree noticeably good dubbing. They must have practiced a lot to get that good. Jet Li said, four hours a day, six days a week , for ten years, and you get pretty good.
Nice choreography. Very polite of the attackers to line up and attack one at a time.
His moves are supreme or supremes. Beyond amazing! How I wish he played the role of IP Man. Donnie Yen has done great but Jet li has that Heavy hands and unique way on using them. His strength is within those hands yet his kicks were also heavy.
I need to rewatch lethal weapon 4… love this guy

This was the scene that made me a fan of Jet.
This is unequivocally one of my favorite movies of all time. This and Blood and Bone. I can watch them 100 times straight and still wants to keep watching

Not really. Go back to the year this movie was made. 99% of the movies then were crap. Same as now. You can't cherry pick the best of the best from the past and then compare it to things now. There are plenty of quality pieces of art and entertainment made in any era.

I love how they named “ Funakoshi Sensei” the founder of Shotokan. And how he told his students were wrong. I love that because as a sensei we always tell our students never fight. Unless it’s necessary. And we know beyond a doubt there are many dangerous martial artist and great fighters there.

In Poland in 80s disco party in village looks like this movie. Millions young boys learnt martial arts and checked which is the best. Tradition :) but now police don't allow. :( ( but fighting was not such brutal, just kumite )

We won't see another naturally gifted artist like him for the rest of time! He inspired me to study Shao Lin!!! If I could have one wish, it would be to meet him.

However I do believe the sound track was a bit out of sync with their speech? Also I didn’t realize the Japanese could speak such fluid and perfect English!………Phuuuuuuuuuuuut….yes! That was my butt!

I don't think "realism" means what you think it means.
Really kind of Jet to break that table at 1:20 before that guy fell onto it so he wouldn't get hurt as bad. So sportsmanlike

Yeah this is cool, what gets me is the guy comes in after fight and says you're lucky you weren't seriously hurt, all I saw was arms snapping, shoulders buckling and various other 6 month to a year rehabs, when I hear a bone break like a sheared baseball bat, the first thing I think is hey cripple me too buddy
Jet Li and Shinobu Nakayama look really good together in this movie. Shame they never collaborated again after this.
im pretty sure that Chen Zhen's Master Huo referenced here refers to Huo Yuanjia in Fearless (2006), also portrayed by Jet Li

Great film. Perfect balance of action and humor.
They are so polite! Waiting their turn to fight him 1v1 and allowing him to do all of his fancy techniques. The school may have peovlems with aggression, but they certainly taught manners!

I have got a movie DVD of Jet Li with Mel Gibson and Danny Glover in Lethal Weapon 4 as I have got the whole collection in The Lethal Weapon 2 3 and 4 too I am dedicating these movie DVDS to my old school friends who are both sisters as I hope to see them both again very soon to Chris Marie and Hester from Billyxxxxx
Was always the thing about these old karate movies action flicks, the guys running in one and two at a time, getting flipped, something broken or dislocated, then the next ran in for the same treatment. Even as a kid you were like, why dont they all run in at once, or better yet, just say 'nahhh' and go for a walk.

Its a scary thought yet believable.
The first time I saw Jet Li was in Lethal Weapon 4... after that, I looked for his other movies.
