This is easily the best version I've found to learn from.
Damn good! You got the fingers, the voice, the sideburns! Jerry would be proud.
I love me some Jerry Reed admiring youngsters. Kudos, amigo.
I’m so glad I found this video. Reed is one of the greatest guitarists that ever lived, way too underrated.
Great lesson and under 4 minutes, now that's skill.
This was fantastic. To the point yet detailed. You nailed this. Well done.
Way better than the first version! You're getting pretty darn good! Thanks for putting this up.
Made me smile, thank you for sharing! Can't wait to try it. Cheers!
That my friend is the best guitar lesson on this song. Gotta subscribe, your lessons are great. Thank you for posting.
Nice. Appreciate that, Jerry was a BEAST. This song came into my head on Friday and been there all weekend.
Thanks for posting this lesson video. For some reason it doesn't show up in the search but I found your cover and then found this video in your feed. You're about the only guy I see playing it where it has the same sound and feel as the original. I first heard this song played by Cross Canadian Ragweed when I was in college and it has been a favorite ever since.
Great stuff! You are a Jerry Reed superfan, and I luv it. You know he had a ball doin what he did...with a twinkle in his eye, like he always had somethin up his sleeve.
man that was great!!!! so few can come that close to the great Jerry Reed!!!!
Dude! You're a pretty good teacher. Will be practicing this a lot now
Cheers Mate🍻 That was Mustard🔥 😤🎸👌as we say in Islington North London🏴 Youre The Guvnor Dow💪

Excellent. I got it! Several versions of this on you tube but this is the best😊
Pretty talented there amigo....thx for the lesson
Really enjoying finding your video! My uncle was Chip Young (real name Jerry Stembridge) and he grew up in Hapeville, GA with Jerry and others like Scotty Moore. Chip played with Jerry on tour after service, post high school, but decided the studio was where he wanted to be. He and Jerry were lifelong best friends. Love seeing you play one of my fav Jerry Reed songs! Keep on pickin!!!

Awesome lesson
3 people are jealous. Great lesson, love this song!
Thanks bro !! You taught me!!
Wow Texican... That was hot... Where were you 4 years ago before I sat down and figured this out. You not only play the guitar well, but you have a good voice. Got to love the Jerry Reed / Chet Atkins pickin' style. Just a different approach to county music style that set them apart from the typical country stars of that era.
brother like ur style for real
Already watched this like 10 times...I noticed at the end you played the lick from "Southern Nights" that Glen Campbell always credited that he stole from Jerry Reed. Another video lesson on that and any other REED-Licks would be greatly appreciated out here...Thanks.

cool picking bro
As per the below "tuning" critique: played in Standard tuning but heard in Eb (dropped down a half step)...or slow broadband :). I was wondering what if the 33/45/78 record player QC was lax...I might have grown up listening to something on my 47 rpm "close n play" machine that sounded totally different from my sisters 43 rpm Barbie doll model. "My" stairway to heaven sounded more like escalator to the clouds, whereas Sissy's slower machine couldn't get him off the ground. Perhaps... Regardless. Thank you for the sweet concise tutelage. I think I can nail this time now. Thank you kind sir! MAGA 2Q2Q
Jumping in here - looks like the most recent comments were made 9+ years ago... But I amcurious what you do there on the A string where you run down to the 5th fret during the main lick/riff? been slowing this video down and trying to nail that but cannot seem to grasp it - everytihng else is spot on, though.
Yr very good. No BS.
What was that little run you made at the end?
Cool man..
I notice it's actually in Ab (A flat, G#). But excellent rendition!!!
Thanks!!!
yes top notch
That was as close to Jerry as I've seen in a video lesson! Thanks. What is your amp setup? I'm trying to dial in a Jerry sound on my fender mustang. I know, I'll get beat with a rubber hose for not using a tube amp but Son! Them things ain't cheap!. Anyway, fender 65 twin reverb with very small tape delay and 63 spring reverb. Tiny bit of green box too. It's close but not right

Thanks buddy! That was several years ago, I don’t sound like that anymore...still have the guitar and amp though. It’s a late 60’s Baldwin solid state C-1 amp, that would have come with the Baldwin 801 I am playing. It has “pre-set” buttons for tone settings...so...I really can’t give you any time settings. Just keep experimenting and playing around. Have fun!

@@texican65 thanks and you'd better go pull that guitsr out and dust it off. I'd love to see a lesson on his take another puff melody. That one would be a hoot to just sorta groove with. Ain't never going to be another Jerry Reed. No how!
No sweat....let me know if you have any questions. Dow
You got it son! There used to be a video here on KZread of Jerry singing (lip syncing) on the deck of a riverboat. But I can't find it now. Too bad, it was a great video. PS, I found it. By Disco Fever
