Jerry Reed has that trademark “Claw” technique. Another thing a lot of people don’t know about Jerry.... He made up his own alternate tunings! When Elvis went to record one of his songs.... Scotty Moore just could NOT replicate Jerry’s guitar parts!!! The producer called Jerry, asked him how they could make it sound like he did when he recorded it. Jerry told him “Well Hoss.... only way your gonna get it to sound like me.... is too HIRE me to play it!”.... and they did!! Jerry Reed was one of less than a handful who was conferred the title “Certified Guitar Player” by Chet Atkins! I think the only living “CGP” is Tommy Emmanuel

Your channel is great for intermediate players like me, fast and clear. Please do more stuff like this, obscure bluesy jazzy stuff that is challenging but fun.
Fantastic
And Jerry reed is one of my favorite guitar players one of the best I’ve ever seen
Amos moses! Love Jerry Reed. Nice video
Another good day! But it might take a few weeks... Jerry Reed also played on Elvis' recording of Chuck Berry's 'Too Much Monkey Business' (as well as Guitar Man and US Male) at the end of the 60's, which heralded Elvis' comeback. Brilliant analysis again from the Pilgrim, thank you.
Good job! 👍
Wow cool tune 😎
Geweldig!!
Nice to see such a talented musician breaking down a Jerry Reed song, making it, almost, playable!
Jerry reed had a way of making Deceptively hard songs seem easy, but when you try to play his songs you realize just how good he was.
I love the way you broke down this song and made it seem playable to anyone willing to practice bit by bit
You are a master guitarist
Wonderful
this was great
Jerry Reed was one of my heroes.
Nice man! I love Ray and actually transposed the guitar from piano sheet music.. So Bb it is. I then heard the Jerry Reed version and his voicings are so great for the guitar. Make a video on Jerry's Breakdown. I know you can do it! Makes this song look like Redemption Song
Ok, where are the videos of you singing? I could listen to your voice all day.
Great stuff, like to see a video on Slash
My man can sing! That's a damn fine voice.
Now that was killer
Thank you for this great lesson! I'll definitely try this one, but my fingerstyle still sucks a bit.
whoa hell , he played with Roy Clark . Mad skills both of them!!! Shreddn' to my eyes as a youth and greatly appealing. like Toots Thielemans on harmonica to my youthful ear . But ya HAD to be great to be anyone back then . lot of artist today got only a few great tunes
Intriguing.
you can sing......good job
Almost sleep but this video comes up and cancel my plan to get rest , 1 like for you
JOHANNN haha nice video!
Heeey -- great voice!
I would love to see you do some Roy Clark stuff
Nice singing!

Jerry Reed and his Winchester m-12 shotgun in The Wild Bunch.............To William Holden " I'll watch em till hell freezes over, or you say different " , then proceeds to kill all the people he's guarding in the general store when one of them makes a break for it. He goes to town with that 12ga pump !!! He portrays a real psycho looney tune in this movie
You have the best stuff I know this isn’t a popular request but you should do a video on thumbs carlile
The Nashville scene of guitar players were....and are....phenomenal!! Just stroll into any honky tonk on Broadway and you will be blown away by the talent presented. It must be in the water there.
I think he has the most engaging style of all guitarists I have heard honestly.
You get Jerry Reed and Glen Campbell together, you have the greatest guitar duo ever, gotta thank Glen for arranging him to be on both his shows multiple times, they were so good together, which just says more about how great they both were, they could play amazing both solo and backing somebody, amazing guitarists. Love em'.
This is gonna be a good friday
Jerry Reed was phenomenal and a funny slick cat. Im 54 and picked up the guitar after a break of 30 years and enjoy your videos! Keep them coming! And you got a great singing voice! Are you from the Netherlands?
he sure is hard to copy but you do it justice, another great video cheers.
Sweet
Can you please do a video on Richie Sambora 🤘🤘
I'm always taken back at the way you play a B Chord, with ur 3 fingers.Guess that is the way you were taught. Nice playing by the way.
Good Singing
Jerry Reed was a brilliant guitarist and so are you Pilgrim.
I think Jery Reed's first album was called "Guitar Man," with the title track, "Guitar Man." It was an almost unplayable pop song, because Jerry really wanted to show off how hot he was on that instrument. I got into Jerry Reed for his story-based songs, which I love, and was blown away at his mastery of the guitar. every one who plays it should listen to Jerry Reed, and probably Chet Atkins, too.

I got into Jerry reed through Elvis, I noticed on some elvis records there was this amazing guitar playing going on that turned out to be Jerry Reed, what a fantastic guitarist!
Jerry just made it fun and it looks so simple, him and Chet where the masters of this :)
Hey man. Maybe one about Sam Chatmon. He was great and we would love to understand what he used to play. Thank you!

Btw, half of the 6 Certified Guitar Players are still alive and playing - John Knowles, Steve Wariner and Tommy Emmanuel.
❤️❤️
voor de positieve noot van je kan het heb je Cruijff er bij geplakt :) goed gespeeld trouwens!
Lmao Jerry Reed is often forgotten about these days in terms of great guitarists... quiet simply he was awesome!! One of my all time favorites, and he was really funny!!
