Jerry Reed Hubbard (March 20, 1937 - September 1, 2008) was an American country music singer, guitarist, and songwriter, as well as an actor who appeared in more than a dozen films. His signature songs included "Guitar Man", "U.S. Male", "A Thing Called Love", "Alabama Wild Man", "Amos Moses", "When You're Hot, You're Hot" (which garnered a Grammy Award for Best Country Vocal Performance, Male), "Ko-Ko Joe", "Lord, Mr. Ford", "East Bound and Down" (the theme song for the 1977 blockbuster Smokey and the Bandit, in which Reed co-starred), "The Bird", and "She Got the Goldmine (I Got the Shaft)".

Hi Jon.Greetings from the other side of the pond.I am an old hand 70 last birthday.Been playing for 55 yrs but you never stop learning.Been a Blues player most of that time but always loved Jerry and chet etc.Love your vids. Even after all these years your 3 licks are challenging.Hope to see some more in the future.Meanwhile you are a great player and teacher. Thanks again for sharing your skill and talent.

Hello, Paul, I've been at this guitar disease for 61 years now, 74 years old, and I've been racking my brain for a long time, trying to figure out that intro to "The Claw". So happy to finally see this video. Haven't tried it yet, but looking forward. I already consider it a major breakthrough. -Rick

@@rickwine9821 I'm right there with you Rick and I totally relate to what you say. I've long been more of a country blues player who uses the two finger "Travis Picking" method. These Reed licks and his way of playing is challenging to say the least, but doable for us who stick with it. Jon does a very good job in this video.

i would counter by saying "lightning rod" would be harder
