I love how Jim says he really only transcribed a couple of solos in his life, back when he was a kid. Then he proceeds to play the Charlie Christian solo he transcribed note for note.

It is sometimes a chance for a very accomplished player to be assessed by an expert who may suggest ways to improve even further. It may be more common in the classical field where the discipline and repertoire is more standardized. Jazz guitar, which I prefer, has some way to go in that regard.

@@irishmuso7129 Jazz is the standard of all music. It requires you to think, no just repeat something you learned. All music has it beauty. Classical is structure, Jazz is structure and non structure break the rules. Rewrite them, then do it again!!!
