It's very simple....the WNBA needs to generate more revenue in order to pay the players more. Let's not forget that if it wasn't for the NBA subsidizing the league, there would be NO WNBA.

See Bill Burr's take on the situation. If women watched the WNBA like the watch the Kardashians, they have higher salaries than the NBA!

Why don't women support women in the W....my daughter wanted Olivia Rodrigo, concert tickets.... You know what I did?I brought them.... There is a tremendous amount of women Out hear shopping. How about you buy the w? NBA package, how about you buy a ticket to the game? I'm not being sexist. There's more women in the United States then men, they can push this league. But what am I talking about? Women won't even vote for a woman. President. Sorry, it's the truth.

Caitlin Clark stats 1 and 6 record, averaging 5.3 turnovers, averaging under 50% from the field as well 37.1 to be exact. She has 31.6 3pt FG%, she terrible on defense and her plus/minus is -10.3 you're welcome.

Imagine women ruining their best opportunity to grow the womens game. CC has brought a machine of fans of all races and thats still not good enough. If a person worked for 27 years they're at retirement age. Stop making excuses for a league thats overall boring wuth one exciting player, Caitlin Clark

So, more men watch women’s basketball and the NBA subsidizes the WNBA but “structural sexism” is holding the women’s game back? Just once, I’d like to hear a more nuanced breakdown of precisely how that works. Grandiose, hyperbolic statements without any explanation as to why gets us nowhere. Could Jemele elaborate? This is a serious question. I mean, she is a journalist after all, is that too much to expect?

Much of journalism is documenting an inequity, and the need to minimize this inequity is considered obvious by many in the US. A common (spurious) attempted rebuttal of these observations is "but you haven't traced this to its ultimate origins" like this negates the observations. It doesn't. The next logical steps to an identified inequity is plugging in attempted solutions, that is IF you agree its a problem. If you really don't see a problem at all you are free to demand "why ?" ad infinitum, but its an obvious dodge.

Well I am going to first assume that none of the WNBA nor NBA owners have to actually open up their Books to the Public. So therefore any spin can be put on actual Revenues. The best thing that has happened concerning the Clark rise in Public Fandom has likely far more folks in tune to other College and WNBA players besides just her. So hopefully far more folks will get the DEPTH of Total Women talent in the WNBA along with those in the College Game. I know far too many folks are Deaf to the concept of Funding. Therefore who is behind that. Who's pitching what to whom. The WNBA players are saying they want to be paid in accordance to the grow and revenues of the WNBA, not as compared to what the NBA guys are making. So folks need to stop stating otherwise. America was built on paying Large Sums of Money to folks working at Companies not yet making a Dime. So stop with this, well the players should get this or that based on just Assumed Revenues.
