I just experienced that a protection order does absolutely nothing but piss off the party it is against.

Unfortunate but very, very true. It is sad that this continues to happen for those victims who are trying to get away from their abusers and again those protection orders do nothing to stop it.

true. its just a piece of paper. thats why u have to be very careful who u deal with and get into relationships with. dont get invloved with people until you truly know them. and the run at the very 1st time of psycho behavior

@@InfamousCrimeLocations In Florida, an order of protection failed a woman but she took matters into her own hands. She had cameras installed outside by her door. Her ex was taped kicking her door down. She had 2 children inside. When he through the door, she shot him. Florida has "The Stand Your Ground Law". The judicial system needs to improve the order of protection violation better so the abuser does not have the opportunity to hurt anyone

@@forpetessake3532 unfortunately yes. My best friend was murdered in 1996, and he only got 25, to life... He was denied parole a few months ago, and up for parole again, this August. It is heartbreaking, beyond comprehension.

Another sad, tragic ending between husband and wife. Why can't they just move on with their life instead of killing their ex spouses? That "protection order" is often what triggers the killing. R. I. P Rebecca. 💔💐

Celebrities in Hollywood have bodyguards. Other than the state forcing a person out of that state that a protection order is on, it leaves a "protected" person with little other option than having to relocate and hide. Or have the state be forced to provide a 24hr bodyguard. Why even issue protection orders otherwise?!

Unfortunately, many of us have had to get "protection" orders in the past and we've all been let down by law enforcement. When someone has an order against them, they're not allowed to own a gun. Basically we have to wait until they shoot us before we're taking seriously. Poor woman and her surviving son! Thanks for sharing this video Harmin. She shouldn't be forgotten!

Maybe in cases where there is a history of violence, an electronic device on his ankle could send an alert to her phone if he is within half a mile. We have amazing technology, some of it should be adapted. Thanks for the vid 🙂

I have thought the same thing. The petitioner would probably have to pay for it which would be prohibitive for women whose partners use finance to control them but, I'll drop cash on a go fund me or better yet take one of the shifts with some bandidos until the threat has been handled.

You’re absolutely right, Harmin. I was told years ago, by the police themselves, that the paper wasn’t going to stop anybody if the abuser really had it in for someone. When I was 21, I was in an abusive relationship, got out of it, and around midnight I was talking on the phone with a girlfriend when “he” started banging on my door. I told her to hang up and go ahead and call the police because I knew what he was capable of. He broke down the door right off its hinges and walked right over it, flat on the floor. Fortunately for me, the police showed up right as he broke a facial bone and knocked two teeth out; so they manhandled him and threw him in the back of their cruiser. I know in my heart of hearts he would have killed me that night. I moved out of that city and 150 miles away while he was still in jail. I had the hospital send the bill to him. Never saw him again but crazy people are real!

i can't believe he only got 30 years.. after this so preventable crime.. like you said.

All these things come into the balance of the scales of Justice. It's like daring someone to punch you in the face and they do is not the same as someone just walking up out of no where and hitting us in the face.. hope this makes a little sense. I'm not a lawyer but I did stay @ the Holiday Inn Express last night

I work across the street from where he was arrested. I watched the gun battle and then finally cuffed!

@@InfamousCrimeLocations I had heard the police thought he might be in the area. So we locked the office up. Then we saw him race by, then the cops and they barricaded him in, that’s when the bullets started flying. After they finally arrested him, a police officer came to our office and wanted to look around our bldg for bullets....this was a few hours later. There weren’t any thank goodness. It was a crazy couple of hours

I know right!! It's sad but very true. There has got to be a better solution and way to help actually protect these victims. Maybe keeping their abusers in jail or prison instead of releasing them is a start.

This story touches me indirectly because in 1992 I worked at a Family and Child Therapy clinic in North Everett as a receptionist/secretary. I was told that the (protection order against) mother of a young client was literally "gunning" for certain people at the child's school and then to the therapist. I was the front line and was (looking forward) to greeting Ms. Crazy on her way to shoot a Therapist behind me. She was apprehended, with a gun, at the school before she got to us. Fun day.

I've just started watching and subscribed to your channel about a month ago and I also watch " Lamont at large"... He also travels the country doing murder stories and grave sites, so many stories are just so sad and others can make you feel a little angry depending on the case, there are some sick people in this world who just don't care about other lives and so they either lose their cool or just snap.... 😳 it's sad

Yes I have been through something very close to this subject; but I survived and even though it was many decades ago, it never goes away. The trauma is real. I want to assure you that I am completely safe now and really do appreciate you reaching out.
