Smh, really sad, but no, these werent murders for a guy to get his fix. I have 5 yrs in recovery, 16 yrs in active addiction prior to recovery, and some of the best ppl i know are addicts. They'd come help me before the church goin folks i know. Ppl come good and bad in all walks of life. I lived in Sterling when this was happening. Sterling, Rock Falls, and Dixon were all put on a lockdown after the 4 apartment murders until the time he was caught. Great video, but I have a couple notes on pronunciation and the river name. #1 The name Sheley is pronounced Sheelee. #2 The river between Rock Falls and Sterling is called the Rock River.

I live in an old house that has been converted into 3 apts. It is over a 100 years old and was a judges mansion. I know of at least 2 suicides here and 1 natural death occurring here. The judge being the 1st death (a suicide). It doesn't bother us. There is A LOT of paranormal activity here. I know some people don't believe in that kind of stuff. But everyone here has seen ghost or entities or what ever else you want to call them. A young woman moved into the front apt a couple years ago. They kept her awake all night and she was terrified by morning. She was so scared she put crosses and pictures of Jesus up on here front door and walls. She ended up being not so good of a person. I think the energies here knew that and were trying to run her away from here. I'm sure some reading this will laugh and think this kind of activity doesn't happen. But my story is true.

I know paranormal activity is real and I've experienced it so many times that I've lost count. I'm not bragging but I can sense spirit presences most times, have heard footsteps of spirits walking behind me, heard some calling out to me for help and seen poltergeist activity. I'm an empath too so both abilities work well together.

@@guymorris1963 I'm an empath too. I've lived in several places over the years. All have been full of activity. Everyone who has lived with me has seen and heard them. I seen my 1st ghost when I was 6. It was a young girl who looked to be my age. I got up early on a Saturday morning to watch cartoons. She was behind a chair in our living room. She was solid- not transparent. She just staired at me with her very black eyes. I have been surrounded by them every since. Weird- but very true. I'm so used to them now, I don't think much about it. I've never felt fear or have been scared by them. They are just part of my life.

I worked at the Festus Walmart at the time of these murders. I came in to work the late morning after the murders to find police tape blocking off the employee parking area which was the side lot at the time. I asked what was going on and was told the murder suspect (at the time unknown to be Sheley) had come in over night to buy some clothes and was covered in blood. There was supposedly blood evidence in the lot where he had parked and thats why the employee lot was taped off. Finding out he killed a 2 year old really broke my heart. It's 2022 and I still think about this incident from time to time.

I grew up in Morrison which is only 15 minutes away from Sterling. I remember being a kid and I wasnt allowed outside until he was found. All these years later and I'm 23 with a part time job delivering food in Rock Falls/Sterling. Crazy I never knew the buildings they happened until I saw this video realizing I've been inside them delivering food.

I just saw your video on Nicholas Sheley. His last name is pronounced SHEELY for the record. Anyway, I was related to him. My mother was married to an uncle of his. I wish he would have gotten the death penalty for the killings in Missouri. I was born in Sterling, IL and went to HS in Rock Falls, IL. My mother and 3 brothers still live in Rock Falls. I was at his trial. Brock and Kenneth Uvle family were friends of mine. Thanks for covering this.
