This is why I admired Jeff Beck... His ability to make his guitar 'talk' has been achieved by so few. Jimi Hendrix was one of them!

Only Jeff Beck could pull off this iconic song 🎵 was such finesse and striking intentions of the original, The Beatles would be proud and especially John Lennon. A great way to end a show.We love you Jeff Beck you may be gone but will never be forgotten..May he rest in peace.

@@timholt4576David Crosby had a liver transplant. Lived on anti rejection drugs. Beck was a nut about his health. Vegetarian. Exercised hours a day. Getting a bacterial infection and it killing him was a freak thing.

Why do so many of us old farts only recognize genius and brilliance and singular luminosity-- AFTER the Master has passed, and departed from this dense Third octave? Jeff Beck has ALWAYS been higher and finer than the common vibe of 3-D music. Jeff was ascendant, like an eagle that could take the highest drafts of atmosphere, almost into space, and then all the way back to Earth, all in one five minute solo. It makes my heart swell and race in a way nothing else can, or ever could. Jeff Beck, you conquered level twelve when you were 16; you were a journey-level axeman at 19, and a full red-belt Demigod at 20. And it only got better from there. Wind, and stone, and Air, and Fire, and Earth, and Water...and Beck. Now Jeff is Elemental again. Can't wait to see him in his next incarnation. Fly, Jeff Beck-- SOAR E-flat Minor 3

The man had no equal. Very cool to see Jimmy Page in the audience.

Per the Wiki: "The version of "A Day in the Life" featured on this album was awarded a Grammy for Best Instrumental Rock performance." ...I think a few more deserved one too!

He never hits a bad note. He is making micro adjustments on the whammy bar, swelling the volume and yet, his left hand makes perfect contact.

He expressed himself in a way we all wish we could. He bared his soul while creating his art.. it's humbling.. we will always be grateful for what you gave to us. You became a part of our souls by sharing your gift . Thank you .. RIP

Nobody sounds like Jeff Beck. I remember an interview where he mentioned playing without a pick. He had taken some time off, and when he started up again, he said he couldn't find a guitar pick around the house, and just started playing without one.

Lindsey buckingham doesnt use a pick. Hes unreal. My fav guitarist but jeff is frightening. Different style and he prob is the greatest ever

Is his whammy bar set up differently than on a normal strat. Those micro tonal changes are just not there. I know he was doing it, but it is impossible. Also, if is set up to be more sensitive, why doesn't he ever hit a bad note?

​​​​@@rickjason215I think he set up the tremolo bar with a "floating" set up so that he could pull up on the bar as well as push down. I think his intonation was so good just because of his musical ears. I'm sure his whammy bar technique (much like his bottle neck technique)would have developed just from his need to hear the correct note being played. I'm sure he wouldn't have excepted anything less than perfect. I imagine he put hours and hours into perfecting these techniques and also learning melodies. He was the kind of player who would rehearse a melody to the extent that, from night to night he would play it mostly the same. So I imagine he developed amazing muscle memory to help him execute the notes he needed to hear. The best band (the genius) Beck ever had - with the possible exception of the "Blow By Blow" line-up. I did a TV show way back in the 80's which included Jason as a young student and we all saw he was brilliant, even then. Wilkenfield is tremendous and I don't think Vinnie needs any recommendation from me. Thanks Jeff.

Greatness that can’t be explained

I can’t believe he’s gone.

Jeff took us on an incredible musical journey. Superb tone and flawless dynamics framing notes that only he was capable of pulling out of his guitar. I have loved this man and his music ever since I first heard him with the Yardbirds in 1965. My sincerest condolences to his family and friends, and his fans around the world. R.I.P. Jeff, play on now with all the greats on the other side.

This Blu-ray Disc has me mesmerized. So much talent on stage and off. The audio man is masterful! I am watching “Rollin’ and Tumblin’” currently with Imogen Heap and I will find his name shortly. I remember when the British were the first to perfect audio. We owe so much to England in so many ways! Audio recorded and mixed by Alan Branch. What a Genius he is!

Rest in peace to my favorite guitarist of all time. His playing is just... immaculate. One of the most expressive musicians ever. So completely in control of his musical voice, in terms of dynamics, tone, articulation, his great sense of rhythm, his endless ideas. Nothing I can write here could ever do his playing justice. I'm going to keep listening to Jeff and be inspired by him till the day I die.

This was the song that got me into Jeff beck in 2009 when I was 16 a huge lost for all of us guitar players out there.

The timbre control and musicality of a classical guitarist a la Bream, the virtuosity of de Lucia or di Miola: he simply has it all. An outstanding player.
