FYI the center link is not meant to be pinned directly to the top of the A frame on the deck, you need a 4~6" link between the two points so the deck can float up and down regardless of the tractor's position. The only time you even need the center link is to pick the deck up for transport. The 4 wheels are supposed to follow the ground contour and support the full weight of the mower.

Your tractor PTO might have an overrunning clutch. That means you can spin by hand the PTO shaft output as you align the coupler for the implement.

Yep got 72" on my 25hp bad boy tractor and it works great.

Thanks for making that video. I am shopping to replace an ancient Wright Sentar. And having anxiety about putting a 6 foot finish mower behind my orange version of your 1025. I think this helps me know it will be just fine. Seeing someone do it is super helpful.

If you grip the top of the tensioner pulley bolt & loosen the nut, it will slide, allowing extra room to install belt & adjustment with 9/16 nut on mine. However I also levered the spring out & back in again.🤔

I’ve got an older 6’ King Kutter. I like the newer tilt up gearbox. Mine has to be completely unbolted and lifted up. The 4 bolts were a pain to hold underneath so I welded a strap between the two on each side so I didn’t have to hold with a wrench under the deck. I tried the “stock” belt and no way could I get it on. I now buy a 1” longer belt. I use a Magic Marker to write on the deck the belt number and what blocks to put under the gearbox. I rebuilt all three spindles with kits. If you ever do that job, fill the spindles with grease as you put them back together to save yourself 300 pumps each with a grease gun. The grease comes out of the spindle shaft between the two bearings so it must be full to lubricate the top bearing. Next time I disassembly a spindle, I’m going to drill a sideways grease passage above the top bearing.

Thinking out of the box, but it got the job done

You know if you put your pto select lever to front position the rear pto shaft will unlock and spin freely. Just a tip good video i love my 6ft mower.

Hey saw the video, use JD1025R with a 6' (only because I found it cheap) but really wanted a 6". I mower often and do not allow to get long. Have never bogged down.

Can a 25hp handle a 7ft mower?

@@swappedoutZ71 I honestly don’t know. The most quoted rule of thumb is 5-7hp per foot of width for mower or cutter. We had the 72” and tried it on our little tractor. I would not pay for a 7’ mower to try but if it was sitting around…. Maybe? The specs will say absolutely won’t work. Thanks again, have a great day and be safe!

I wouldn't recommend engaging the PTO while you are at full throttle. Start your PTO at engine idle. If you continue to do this, you can destroy your PTO transmission. I'm speaking from a $6000 mistake.
