@@Devin_Art I cant argue with that, i saw them during a 'summer slaughter tour' the tour had about 10bands on the lineup... after 8bands i was getting kind of bored, but Dillinger came on... Holy shtballs, they tore the stage up climbed on the walls, threw themselves into the air, ran on the crowd, they had a bit of feedbackin one of their songs and the singer actually turned the entire P.A. and stuck his mic right in there.... awesome show. This was maybe 7-8years ago and its still in my top 5shows.

It took me 10 years after first hearing panasonic youth (which I guess is their first real "mainstream" single?) before really starting to analyse the rhythm. Only saw them once early in the last tour and I still regret not making the trip to one of the final shows lol! I wonder what they are all becoming since they split up.
God bless the Dillinger Escape Plan for giving us such AMAZING drummers like Chris Pennie; Gil Sharone and Billy Rymer through out all these years.

@@BeauFerchaud very complex fascinating music, then comes the live video and the sad realization that the official track has been shat all over by some screaming edge lord. This is my first impression. Why does every -core style band feel compelled to do that? I loved the educational part, that was a proper track right there without the vocals. TDEP if you didn’t know has made it their goal to create music that is deconstructed and broken and like nothing you ever heard. They are basically the legends of math core and it’s some of the heaviest and harshest music out there
I enjoyed the song when I thought it was an instrumental 🤣🤣. Billy lives nearby me... what a humble and real musician, a wonderful guy. jammed a bunch with him, so so talented !
When you hear TDEP for the first time you don't know how to headbang, you don't get it very well, you feel like you're lost, but you know it's good

When I first heard this band I had the same reaction. I was a death head and this was my introduction to math. As a musician myself I was estranged yet for some reason I wanted to hear them again. Then again. Then I saw them live. Now they're my favorite metal band. (Especially live. DAMN.) Edit: Notice how *in sync* the syncopations are. My Last Bet is a better example of this. It's surprising to see a guitarist follow the drummer so much in the pocket and yet layer so much at the same time in "that type of band."
I love how he looks like he has heart burn throughout the whole video. That reaction is totally warranted.
Welcome to Mathcore. Really excited for you to be checking this band out!

@Crackbreaker they played a lot of the new album. But live even Angel sounded great. They stated with below and ended with sky is red. Light and sound where just perfect. Port noir was quite good also.
Dillinger Escape plan has gone through a few drummers now, all of them great. THIS is what I'm inclined to point out about one of them. Gil Sharone had one of the best sounding drum kits I've ever heard. His coke bottle green OCDP acrylic kit with the black beauty brass snare (with maple reinforcement hoops). Whoever is reading this should check out those live videos with Gil. Not the best sound quality, but HOT DAMN did that kit sound amazing.

Been listening to Dillinger since their first album and I still don't know how to describe them. Good suggestion and great reaction!
Prancer doesn’t do a justice to Billy or Dillinger either. You should check Understanding Decay from that 54 minutes long video or Billy playing When I lost my bet on KZread. It’s essential of Rymer drumming and TDEP in general
Thanks for letting me know that there's more of this Rymer video out there!
Just saw this drummer on the MegaCruise (Megadeth cruise that sailed from LA to Mexico). On that boat was Suicidal Tendencies. Billy here was playing with them for two shows on the cruise. Amazing drummer.
i had tears in my eyes while watching him drumming. he found his home.
I saw them live once at a festival & one of the guitarists got onto a huge speaker stack, banging his head & then jumped off. I couldn't believe he didn't break a leg. They are insane live.
U need to see the best drum cam on KZread bro : planetary duality by the faceless drum cam . This is just perfect . Kiss from France !
Letterkenny reference? On a drummer's KZread? More likely than you think... Also: Blake Richardson - Obfuscation (or) Prequel to the Sequel :)

"I don't know how to describe it." = our first reaction to hearing this band and kind of the reason we fell in love with them.
Please give Dillinger and Billy another shot. The drum play through of their song "When I Lost My Bet" is what you should watch before you give up on them. They have a bunch of mind blowing songs and were a big influence on Car Bomb. They just dont have many videos in the way of drum cams or play throughs.
THAT SNARE!!!! PERFECT SOUND!!!!!
Great music
Nice Letterkenny reference in the beginning! 😆 Great video!
More Dillinger!. From that same video, "when I lost my bet" is fantastic follow up
Cosmopolis by Imperial Triumphant. They’re an avant-grade metal band that combines many different types of genres. I think you’ll find them interesting. Their drum playthrough of this song does cut the intro short, though
Little Letterkenny reference in the beginning. Mans either Canadian or just has good taste in quality tv shows
Love the channel. Found u about a week ago. Through the Between the Buried and Me reaction. I'd love to see "Jazz drummer analyzes" series. Where we get some pausing and analysis of different vids. Maybe vids you've, maybe ones you haven't. Either way, love whatcha do.
