@@fantasypolice there were a few missed deep throws, but he seemed to have handled the whole portion well and led his guys through the throwing script. When he missed some throws it looked like he kept the “next play” mindset and compartmentalized. It was a smooth day for him.

Wow, Jayden Daniels has such a smooth throwing motion. It was like watching a guy fly-casting for trout on a little stream. He was putting the ball exactly where he wanted, no problem. The long throws - eh, Brady used to throw those short on purpose, to draw interference fouls. Takes a lot of reps to get a feel. Clearly he's got the arm. Along with his great athleticism, Daniels is a top passer. What a prospect.

I thought he would be a bit more accurate. Especially on the deep balls. There were probably eight passes that were off bad, and on a lot of the crossing routes and underneath routes, he didn't lead the receivers enough.

Jayden has a much bigger arm than he’s given credit for. That seems to be the case every year - where a guy will be knocked for arm strength and another talked about for his cannon and they throw the same distance. Jayden Daniels threw just as far as Drake Maye for their pro days. Jayden should definitely go number 2 overall.

Arm strength comparisons are not just about depth, they are about velocity. Even Mac Jones can throw a 50-60 yard pass, it just takes 1-2 seconds longer than it should to get there. Giving an NFL DB two extra seconds to react isn't going to work out well unless you have a completely busted coverage.

my breakdown of the workout was okay, it was interesting i've had the most notes from his so far. his motion is butter, it's green light, and he has the most automatic trigger we've seen in years, he liable to get the ball off in tight areas smooth. it's a lil bradyish. that's the good part. he does specific things really well, effective with deep balls, highly potent, dare i say prolific throwing back shoulder, literally never overstrides. it's been most interesting to see him alternate his stagger foot. you see it on film, you see it in game, it was surprised to see it in a workout its a rare tendency you don't see with other QB's. it speaks to #1. his versatility in different systems. his coordinators will be interchangeable. #2. on the negative side, if he starts getting out of Wack it spotlights, his inconsistency with his lower body. but its very like tiny detail. the most interesting thing I SAW. He alternated his break foot. #1. the positive of that is, he showed a lot of ease and comfort off platform. it's almost like his stays on balance even when he's off platform, that's how balanced he is on his feet. #2. the negative is no one really wants you driving off ur back foot and his arm strength is already not most ideal but yeah. it stands out. he has an inconsistent break foot, that's a big issue. all that being said, for the most part, he's just really good with the footwork. overall, it's all very cute, its very fancy. he does all the flashy stuff well. i wish he was more consistent doing the easy stuff. his anticipation is off, you wish his ball placement was better, the ball finished behind the receiver a few times and if i'm a defender and they run crossing stuff, short to mid, i'm jumping it. Those are my big takeaways.

These pro days honestly so many of the receiver routes slow down or stop to present themselves as targets and on deep balls you can just sit and hold the ball and then time it doesn’t necessarily mean you really throw a great deep ball. That said, no criticism meant for Jayden he’s a beast and I think both he and CW are going to be successful in the NFL. I’d be super excited if I was a Commanders fan assuming they’ll be drafting Jayden as the second best rated QB in this draft. If I didn’t say it already I watched Jayden all season he loves football and is a clutch competitor with a great personality to boot. If he doesn’t have success in the NFL I’ll be shocked.

Really good, accurate intermediate throws to the middle, which is hugely important. I’m an Eagles fan and don’t want WAS to draft this guy at #2 but I think it’s gonna happen. He does have a really quick release, and he must have a high ball speed. I wish people would stop using “velocity” as it’s a vector unless they also mean direction. (Speed is a scalar and velocity is a vector. I don’t make the rules.). But in this case it does look like his direction is good too as he’s pretty accurate. This is the first time I’ve seen him throw, nearly April of 2024. I actually like this guy’s throwing ability I think more than the pick who will supposedly go One.

It’s clear that if you actually watch tape, meaning All 22, not just highlights, you would know more than what you think you do. Daniels is by no means a perfect product, but his misses were always ahead of the receiver and only off by a very small margin. It’s very rare to *ever* have a perfect prospect, but they are called prospects for a reason; they are typically a work in progress. His near misses can be corrected with tutelage (mainly in footwork), but he shows elite traits in arm strength, release time and athleticism. I would be interested to know what you choose to cite as your considered “bad balls”?

IMO- Drake Mayes Pro day was better. Deep ball led better and hit more often. Had better leads on receivers and did not throw the ball behind them as often. Did not miss as many passes. IMO his throwing form is better. I think Maye should go second in all reality. But I want him to go third to my team the PATS

NO ! Those arms ARE on Mahomes . Allen & Herbert ! These guys can throw 40 to 5o yards , just with there wrist & do NOT need to wind up to do so . What is so SAD , is Herbert might throw the BEST deep ball in the NFL , now ? He , just doesn't have weapons on the field to help him do so in his NFL career ? If Jim doesn't F#CK this up? In this years draft , he should get a GREAT WR to throw passes too .

When you are missing guys deep on 50+ yard throws, I don't see how anyone can question his arm strength. After a couple overthrows he dialed it back which caused a couple throws where the receiver had to slow down to catch it. Overall he's an impressive player, and this didn't even showcase his legs.
