Maybe year one but definitely not overall. He’s the most pro ready QB in this class, but his ceiling is lower than the others. Teams like the Broncos, Vikings, and Raiders are my favorite fits for him because they don’t have many holes on offense outside of QB.

Yes…only because Michigans #1 defense, and stellar backs. He’s not it

Has the best mix of arm and release of any prospect. So quick, so smooth, over the top, great angle, great velocity over the top and down field. Gonna eat up passes up the sideline, the seam, the post, the fade from the pocket. Throws well on the run, but is no Aaron Rodgers or Mahomes or Wilson. Mobile enough, not a weapon on the ground but plenty enough to be Dan Jones or Alex Smith mobile. Best comp for me is Alex Smith-smart guy, nice mechanics, kinda small, solid average arm, everything necessary to lead a team to a championship.

I wish I could see more of this guy from the pocket on longer developing plays. I want to see what he does with his feet when the pocket closes around on him. Does he step through and up? Can he step up and dart? Lots of QB's are getting out of the pocket fast and rolling. Guys like the GOAT and Peyton Manning didn't have to roll, they'd have the pocket awareness to stay tight, step up, and just sling the football. They also had the eyes to find a guy open, and their throws were just dimes. They could hit everything: Back shoulder, front shoulder, sideline, deep ball.

Is Bo small? He's listed at 6'2, which is only an inch shorter than prototypical. That's the same height as Mahomes. Dude is also insanely jacked for a QB. I've gone to just about every home game the past couple years, and the guy is impressive and big in person.

For FBS QBs, Bo Nix has the best passing stats, and Jayden Daniels has the best "dual threat" stats. 2nd place in both categories isn't even close. But I would say not to limit yourself to FBS QBs, but to look at every available QB, such as John Matocha from DII who you can compare to Tyson Bagent, and Anthony Gordon who you can compare to all the guys he played against, or his teammate, Gardner Minshew, and how he's performed in the NFL. I have my own QB score, USG%/Bad Play%, and Bo Nix's score this last season is possibly the highest ever.

I oscillate between him and McCarthy for the no. 2 in the draft. McCarthy is a lot younger and has the better arm, but if you watch Bo's Auburn highlights you see him making impressive improv plays that McCarthy hasn't shown. Plus, Bo makes far more anticipatory throws than McCarthy, and he's made Josh Allenesque plays at Oregon. The only question is whether he's worth taking at 12 when he's 24.

I don’t get how everyone doesn’t have Nix as QB4. I can understand taking McCarthy over him because of the upside, but no one should be taking Penix over Nix. Nix is the most pro ready QB in this class and probably the safest QB you can take. The flip side to that though is that he’s not gonna be elite. He’s basically Brock Purdy with better tools. He won’t carry a team on his back, but put him in a good system and surround with weapons and he’ll win consistently. If I’m a team like the Vikings or Raiders that have weapons already, I’d give him a look around that late first range (Raiders would have to trade back from #13 or trade up from #44).
