This is a great example that good still exist amongst the shadows of evil in todays sad state of diversity. To appreciate the heroes and honorable people we tend to forget because they opted to unselfishly do the right thing for the rest of us. I salute her and every soldier that defends this country with everything they have and can lose. It takes a special soul that can do that. They earned and deserve our respect. Mr Leno is also a great man because he dedicated his life to making laugh and forgetting our problems for at least a few minutes. Giving us oxygen when we are gasping in our negative daily news. His goodness is even deeper when he shows his appreciation by giving back to these men and women. I applaud you guys. With all these current mass shootings, this gives me hope that we can still live the good life God intended us to live by and appreciate.

I have said "Thank you for your service" to hundreds of Veterans and Active Duty. And many have actually teared up and all have been very thankful.

Salute to Stephanie and her battle buddy who she held in her last moments...

Just watched this.... am a Veteran of the Army for 7 years...1968-71. I spent 2 1/2 consecutive years on the ground in III Corp IIFFV Artillery. I am 71 and grizzled but... this softened my hairy cheeks with more than a few tears. All respect to Jay and to anyone who put on the Uniform of our country ....ALL went whole...NO ONE came home that way....No matter the amount of years..."it was just yesterday."

I don't always get emotional and tears flowing. This video had happy tears flowing for the wonderful lady. Tell I said thanks for her service.

First, to Stephanie, from a fellow veteran, US Navy, 5 years, 1983-1988, I very humbly, and gratefully, thank you for your service. You are a true wounded warrior, and disabled veteran I know it's never easy to be the only one who survived something like that. I am so sorry for your loss. I can't even begin to imagine the survivor's guilt you carry with you every day. It's horrible, and it's awful, and it sucks. I know all that. I believe you are still here for a reason. I believe God spared your life because your work is not done here.☺ I could tell, just watching this short clip, that not only are you a beautiful person on the outside, but a beautiful person on the inside. I could see the love you were spreading to everyone around you. You have a big heart, Stephanie. Please keep the faith. Don't give up on yourself. God still needs you down here with us.☺ Semper Fi. I know it's a Marine saying, and I'm Navy myself, but it means "always faithful." And I can see and I believe that you are always faithful. Thank you again and God bless you for your service. And now, to Mr. Leno. Jay, I watched your television show all the time, and now I watch Jay Leno's Garage on KZread. I even went to a taping of, I think, your 10 o'clock show that you did for a few minutes? Or maybe it was after you went back to your regular 11:35 week nightly slot? One of those two. It was the episode with Adam Lambert as your musical guest? Anyway. But this is the first time watching an episode of your show touched my heart so deeply. Your heartfelt generosity brought me to tears, sir.😢 That was such an amazingly kind thing for you to do. And, I think maybe what touched me more than your generosity to that brave veteran? I could see that, just being with Stephanie, spending time with her, she touched your heart, too. I couldn't swear to it, but it looked to me like maybe you got a little misty-eyed there yourself, right at the end.☺ Your kisses and hugs there at the end? You broke my heart, in the very best way, sir.😢 Thank you for your kind, generous donation, absolutely, but much more importantly than that, thank you for showing us, your fans, your big heart. I guess my fiends who were blown to pieces or burned to death overseas were done compared to the big guys plan. Nice touch in adding one of the most painful ways of dying. Or the terrible things that happen to children. But I guess that’s when his plans are mysterious as said when someone has the answer but don’t want to say because it doesn’t fit the god is good campaign. That being said wonderful she made and making the most of the situation.

There is no pretense or "acting" with Jay Leno. When he was doing The Tonight Show, he could always be spotted around Burbank in one of his exotic cars. I encountered him on at least four occasions. One time, I was driving past NBC on my way home from work and saw Jay pull out of NBC in a Corvette. I just had to say something... Pulled up next to him at a stoplight and hollered over that I didn't think a Corvette was creative enough for his collection. Jay ROLLS DOWN his window and goes into a spiel about how the car had a carbon-fiber front end and was definitely not your run-of-the-mill Corvette. Before the green traffic arrow sent him off in a different direction, he gave me a leftover pizza that he was bringing from a staff meeting. "Hey, want a pizza? It's good pizza!" I immediately drove to the stables where my horse was boarded, and shared the Jay Leno pizza. Was always amazed that he would lean over, roll down his window and engage in conversation with some random guy in an Isuzu Rodeo... You're right, Jay - it was good pizza!

I used to go to a motorcycle event in San Pedro, California and Jay would show up in sone strange car or bike. He was just a regular guy in a blue work shirt.

Totally agree. I always loved his show, but this just made me love Mr. Leno even more. He could sit back and enjoy his hard earn wealth and disappear from everyone. But, you can tell he really wants to help make a difference for people who really need something good in their life. This was beautiful!

I lost almost all of the men on both of the teams I lead in Vietnam and for decades, I thought nobody cared...You Do Care! I would like to share a poem with you that a very Special Friend (Larry Richardson) wrote and presented it to me in 2005. I served 1-1/2 years in combat, in Vietnam, and Larry had two brothers who also served in Vietnam. I had this poem printed on a 11X17" sheet, with a gold border, and I have shared it with 1000's of Veterans and active duty military since then. I also share the poem with Police Officers, Firefighters, and ALL First Responders because it belongs to them as well. I also share it with selfless people like yourself because of the work you do to help Veterans and our members of the military. Again, thank you from the bottom of my heart for what you for ALL of us. I would also like to email you a picture of the actual 11X17" certificate that I printed for Veterans and the military if that would be okay with you. With Great Respect, John Anderson A Soldier's Thoughts It Was Easier to Leave the Liberty I Love, Than to Return to the Liberty I Lost. Donny Donowitz Can I just say you Americans certainly recognise vets and their service better these days. Here in the UK, the warriors of my generation back in the 80/90's were never recognised for fighting the government's dirty little wars back then. A great gesture.

Sleepingdragon 1 my father is a Vietnam vet. His generation of fighters were disgraced, spit on, left to die for over a decade. I think our countrymen have learned since then that it's not the soldiers who are the evil ones.

Donny Donowitz The US public wrongly took out there hate on the returning vets I agree. Whats so crazy about that was, most men were drafted not volunteers. Often strongly against the war politically and morally but still had to fight. A dirty war Vietnam, lots of madness went on like all wars, but also lots of very brave actions by brave and honourable guys. My father's best man on his wedding day in America was in Vietnam on tour and rang my Mum and Dad on the day from in country. He never returned. Take it easy man. I've just got work out who'll give me a sports car now!

Sleepingdragon 1 no, the US public as a while did not "take out their hatred on returning US soldiers" it was just the Democrats. From the people who coined the phrase "Baby Killer" as a term of endearment for our troops.

And Denzel Washington. He has paid for houses for the Fisher House organization where families of service members can stay while the service member is in recovery at Walter Reed or Bethesda. He's a real class act, as are these other gentlemen.

Can there be anyone nicer than Jay not many I don't think. He has a heart of gold when it comes to those who have had a extremely bad time over the years. & it so nice for him to surprise them with such a gift. I know he sadly can't get to everyone who has been through such horrible & horrific ordeals like war. But, I am sure he makes a great way of showing his appreciation in others ways to them. I do wish there was more people about like Jay Leno They are such a very rare & scarce breed of person. WELL DONE JAY, WELL DONE!!! 👍👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
