The solution to this big algebra problem is very simple. X=5 and Y=4. 5 to the 2nd power equals 25 and 4 to the 2nd power equals 16. 25-16=9, 5*4=20, and 5+4=9. It's as simple as all that.

I'm sorry, but I cannot think of any complex solutions. I just came up with the easiest one that I could think of. I'd rather not go even a little crazy with trying to find any other solutions including complex ones. The solution that I provided was the simplest one that I could think of and perhaps the best one as well.

​​​@@fernandopenagos2093 Yep you're correct. x = 5 and y = 4 is a pair of solution. Yet, it may not be mathematically correct (some other solutions may be present) without steps. Like have you ever thought that the positive signs can be converted and one more pair is (-5, -4). And you can also get (-4, -5)
