Hi friends, here we are, with a new, fresh video for the week! Yes, we're spotlighting the famed trumpeter, Harry James! Starting this new series off with some personal items that were passed down to me, by my Grandmother who did meet the man behind the horn.

Great story telling Rob!😊
That was a great story and a great picture. Thanks for sharing!
Nice story. Harry James is one of my favorite bandleaders. Before Las Vegas got developed, Los Angeles was an entertainment center (1940's). So if your grandmother lived in Southern California back in the '40's, then she would have been able to see all the name bands as well as entertainment acts for a very reasonable price.
The Chesterfield photos had "autopen" signatures, and can be purchased all the time on Ebay. The last photo appears to be of Helen Forrest having Harry something. That makes the photo dated around mid 1943 while Helen was still on the band. While Harry James and His Orchestra were on the Chesterfield radio shows from 1942-46, Monica Lewis appeared on the Chesterfield shows from 1949-52. She never sang with Harry James.
