I used to live in Augusta when I was in high school. Every Christmas, his estate was covered with Christmas lights and was really beautiful.

I live in NYC. I was at all of his shows. (THE APOLLO) After a show, outside at the back stage door. In the 70's, James came out walked over to me and said Hi, I'm JAMES BROWN. After a second, the girls around me started screaming. His bodyguards took him away. Ohhh, by the way, I was sitting in the first row wearing HOT PANT!! I believe he saw me from the stage. LOL I was listening to the radio when he passed away. That night I had a dream of a man standing build like JB. Standing in the shadows walked to me and handed me something, turned and walked down some stairs to a bright light. I believe he Passed the pattan to me a FAN. I have a designing business now.

Great story. Didn't see as many of his shows as you. I remember once me, my uncle, brother, best friend and her sisters standing on line in the rain wrapping past and around 8th Avenue. Saw my mother coming. Thought we were in some kind of trouble. She brought us umbrellas and sandwiches. All of us lived on 115th Street 4 doors down from Wadleigh Junior High School in which for three years Anna Marie Horsford was my classmate.

👍💯💜👏👏👏🎆.Thank you Jordan.Great job. This is a awesome video.im sure Mr James Brown would of been proud. He did spend some time in Macon, Georgia. He had a Recording studio here. It's now Jones Brothers Mortuary. I'm not sure but before the perms he had his hair straighten, aunt Lucille had a Beauty shop. He knew the family.she might of done his hair. He .might been in macon because of Little Richard. He was always sharp as a tack. I smile at that tiger balm. I'm told it was good for pain.i did enjoy learning things I didn't know. Seeing the museum. I'm sure most if not all.of his suits were Taylor made.his shoes was always shined. Again thank you. I didn't know he had diabetes. Love, respect and positivity always Neita James. 🙂👋.

I am from Augusta, Ga and I saw him on the street corner of Broad street in downtown Augusta circa 1973. He had on a full length fur coat an sunglasses and there was this crowd of people I would say I am guessing around 20 or so that had come up to talk to him.

Michael Jackson presented James Brown with the Lifetime Achievement Award at The Bet Awards years ago…James did not know he was presenting and he came out and the band started playing Michael did his version of James Brown’s dance steps and the audience went crazy he told Danny Ray to put his cape on Michael!! Michael got choked up telling the audience that “this man is the single most influential person in his career!” James Brown Live at the Apollo. me and my cousins used to dance our puts off to that record😂😂

Thank you! It was the first concert I went to, Mr. and Brother James Brown. Always will be loved! He was music and his talent was/is unsurpassed, so much so that it affected other artists who emulated him and carried his legacy into even more greatness. There is only one, Mr. James Brown. Thank you and I know you are at rest and your soul is with GOD. Blessings to his family always! Amen. 💜🙏🏽

Just for the FYI (I live here), it’s a whole section for James Brown in the Augusta Museum of History. They have a ton of other stuff as well-old train, trolley car, canal boat, Sally Ride’s astronaut suit, toms of history about the area, plus a lot about the other famous people from or who lived in the area. It’s a very interesting museum. Not far from there is the Woodrow Wilson home which can be toured. There is a lot of history in Augusta, North Augusta and Aiken area

James Brown was one of a kind. Finally know how he got his hair looking so good. It was nice getting to see some of his personal things along with his entertaining side . Those three piece costumes he wore on stage so classy. He was stylin and profiling in them. It’s a shame that the family still haven’t come to an agreement on where to lay him down. Last I heard was one of his daughters has his casket in her front yard with a canopy over it. James Brown deserves better than that. Love new intros. Thank you for all you do. God bless

I’ve told you many times that I was a stage manager for a few years in Cincinnati before moving to Hollywood. Anyway, we had James on our show a lot and I would always start out calling him Mr Brown. To show what a great guy he was he always insisted that I call him James. If a horn player hit a wrong note he would fine him $50.

I remember back in the 60s, our city reached out to mr. Brown to come and try to calm things down here in Omaha. Malcolm X was from here in Omaha and things were really getting bad. So Mr Brown came and put on a concert and talk to the people of Omaha try to settle things down here. Things after he left actually got worse.
